A green dot means that the thread has new posts. A brown dot means the the thread has no new posts.

Do not worry about your threads being ignored. The playground is full of people, and someone might show interest in reading your thread.

Also, when YOU post in a thread, you'll see that thread as "read" (brown dot) even if you haven't looked at it yet, but don't worry, everybody else in the playground sees the green dot.

Yeah, the "New Posts" feature is tracked by cookes placed on individual users systems, and, as such is entirely relative. Anyone who hasn't read your thread or dumped their cookies recently will have a green dot.

If you scroll to the bottom of the forum, you'll see a key to tell you what each symbol means. While it's easy here (with only three), the same is true on other message boards that use the same software. And some of those can have more statuses.

We enjoy a good bit of punnery around here, as my name might suggest. Talking about dumping cookies was simply too good to resist, especially for our very own Cookiemonster. :smalltongue:

The Cookies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_cookie) I was talking about in my first post: Small text files stored on browsers to help track user-specific data. Required to make many web applications, such as this forum, work as intended. These files can be deleted at will by the user (http://www.wikihow.com/Clear-Your-Browser's-Cookies).
The Cookies (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cookie) Zeb, DD, and myself in my second post were talking about: Delicious baked treats

End Result: A Punny Joke.

Very well explained, Shhalahr. (How do you pronounce that? Oh well...)

Pretty well phonetically. It's an Auran (air elemental) name, all the H's just help give it that airy feel. But I don't mind if you just use a simplified "Shu-lar" in place of "Sh-hah-lahr" like an elemental would pronounce it.

Hey, random is what we do here. You should probably get used to it, and learn to enjoy it. :smallwink:
