About (World, setting and the comic itself):
Knack is NOT a D&D based comic.
Our story is set in a world with no magic and with deep political relations called Korderall. The world is divided in 16 nations in 2 great continents and 3 smaller ones. Two of those nations are very powerful and influential in their own continent and the other smaller nations are bound to them, they depend upon the militarily, economically and, some time, even culturally. Despite their differences these two main nations maintain a very fragile peace, because they know that a huge conflict would suck their resources dry and leave room for the remaining nations to rebel against their control.
But that don't mean they don't enter in conflict.
In the recent age a new form of power is emerging in Korderall, the power of the mind.
Many children are born with special abilities. Even adults are showing development some times. Abilities like moving objects with their thoughts, setting things on fire by looking at it, and even flying!
Afraid of how this would affect the masses both main nations decided to hide this fact from the general population. But each took a different path.
The nation of Toshinal fear the power of those people as a military resource. Some of them even believe them to be just aberrations of nature. So they develop a secret task force called Reapers.
Each Reaper is a psychic that was raised inside the Toshinal military from birth, teaches them to be loyal to the Toshinal nation and devoted to their leaders. Their mission is to battle a secret war. They kidnap the psychic children to introduce them to their ranks and kill the ones that aren't young enough for the training.
The Reapers are running this operation, that they call "The Clean Up", in the continent of Kornoshiwa. Since they are a division of Toshinal military they have free pass among every single nation from this side of the great ocean. Giving them access to all cities and all small tribes in the region.
The Mercurion nation see the psychics in another way. Of course they realise that they have a military significance, but instead of kidnapping the children and killing the old they decide to give shelter and extra care to the psychics and their families. They see them as a natural step of evolution. Humans becoming something else. Maybe something closer to the gods. And they respect that.
Most of the psychics of the continent of Morgoroth decide to joy the Mercurion military by themselves. Some do this as a way of repaying the nation, the others are motivated by the acts of the Reapers. They form a special force called Guardians.
The top priority of the Guardians is to locate any psychic in the continent of Morgoroth, but a smaller part of this group has the task of infiltrate the Toshinal nation and try to rescue the psychics from the other side of the ocean.
This way a secret battle is build. A battle of Guardians and Reapers.
On Knack we will follow the story of Kara, a woman living on a small isolated tribe in the nation of Polistrocus. We will watch as she discovers her new powers and we will follow her as she tries to escape certain death.
