Hardboiled Cop Picture???

Don't know if this fits here, but whatever...

I am currently leading a Shadowrun campaign, and I need a picture of an iron-jawed, hardboiled cop type, maybe in his forties, as a handout. Can anyone help me out? Thanks in advance :)

Unsure how to post picture my own self but I would suggest anything from Dirty Harry (of which you can actually find illustrated covers for his films) to any private eye in google.

Fun fact: Copy-pasting the image into your favorite photo editor (Photoshop, GIMP, etc.) lets you print just one frame of animated GIFs. After possibly messing with settings and/or deleting all but one layer.

Swamp dragon, and yes.

Swamp Dragons do tend to explode when you do that, though, so for people less hard-boiled than Vimes this sort of thing isn't recommended.

Pratchett agrees with you on that one, but I gotta say, Postlethwaite is a bit more obviously intelligent than the Eastwoodian interpretation. Makes the whole Vetinari's terrier interpretation just a tad less obvious to the bulk of Ankh Morpork.

@Vimes pic: The Clint Eastwood interpretation is good because it makes him look like what he really is - a scruffy bastard with a bad attitude who is actually not much better than the criminals he hunts down (he remarks on it himself many times, and, judging from the feelings he supresses all the time, I thin he's right!), were it not for a tiny, moral twist in his character that makes him a hero rather than a villain. Perfect. Pete Postletwaithe looks far too clean as a model for Vimes...

I would shy away from using pictures of well-known actors in your game if I were you. Maybe it's just me, but speaking as a player, if you produced a picture of Vic Mackey in the middle of a game of Shadowrun, it would do pretty well to ruin the immersion, and probably spawn a litany of "Shield" references too.

Maybe it's just me and the group I play with though.

Have you ever seen Life on Mars? Gene regularly beats the crap out of suspects, plants evidence and is an alcoholic mysogynist... :smalltongue:

Though I'll admit, those pics of him don't truly do the character justice. The British version of the series was awesome (as is the spinoff, Ashes to Ashes). The American version (with Harvey Keitel as Gene Hunt) was awful. It's a shame, the pilot for the American version looked quite good (with Colm Meaney as Gene Hunt)...they rejigged it, changed a lot of the actors and characters, and the end result was rubbish.
