Um, AD&D was not DBASEII. Flumphs were in the first edition of AD&D (typically called 1e, although not the original Dungeons and Dragons). I have no idea if Flumphs predated the original (hardback AD&D) Monster Manual.

Don't get the idea that their original purpose when introduced in the fiend folio was for people to land on them.

They're still quite ridiculous though.

They are apparently helpless if you flip them upside down.

I rather liked that dungeon. I've been planning to put a much more sinister twist on it to screw with a group.
