copy the scenarios stuff into the alephone folder, then run alephone, there is no install.

Other way around. Copy the Aleph one file and place it in the extracted scenario. Works keen.

Little Fighter 2 (lf2.net). A really, really fun beat 'em up that's probably at it's best in multiplayer. Special attack are defend-direction-attack/jump, I recommend setting some custom controls.

It is prerecorded games, though.

Not an issue, but...

Tremulous (http://tremulous.net/). It's a multiplayer team-based FPS with two different sides - humans and aliens - and buildings you have to construct.

Liero! (http://www.liero.be/) is an extremely fun mix between Quake, Worms and Contra. (Well, not quite, but...) You get a worm, you choose a bunch of weapons, set your settings and play with a friend or retarded AI. It has a ton of versions, including a "ProMode" (that gets rid of some of the sucky weapons while giving new ones and improves dynamics). However, no multiplayer mod as I know of (only hot seat), but Wikipedia knows something about certain conversions like Gusanos and NiL.
Also, Soldat (http://www.soldat.pl/en/downloads). Another fast-paced shooter, which is inspired by Liero. Widely played online, free, and with some mods and settings, plus you can use some quasi-real weaponry (like AK-47 or M79). I love throwing knives, myself. :smallwink:

Combat Arms.

Free to Play Multiplayer FPS.

Really is a lot of fun!

Something that turns off a few players is the manner in which you get weapons.

You start the game with the M16 and if you want more, you have to 'rent' them with in-game points you get for killing people. You get a LOT of points at the beginning, so it usually isn't much of a problem.
Of course, you CAN pay the company that made the game a small 'donation' and get weapons permanently, but who wants to do that? :smalltongue:

what turns off players is amount of glitchers and hackers in the game and slow reaction of devs to bann them and improve hackshield.

Realms of Rivalry. 2/3/4 player tactical strategy game, with awesome mechanics (and sprite-graphics, but duh).

Toribash (http://www.toribash.com/). Ragdoll-physics turn based fighting!

Added a link. It really is a unique game, I recomend anyone with some patience to try it out. It's the only turn based animation fighter I know of.

Gunz: The Duel (gunz.ijji.com) a third-person shooter with a focus on being awesome. I can't think of another shooter where you can so much as jump off a wall, and that's the tip of the iceberg in Gunz. It has lots of RPG elements, so it starts off kind of slow, but it picks up. You might count it as an MMO, but it's kind of.. not. It can only be played online, however.

Soldat (http://www.soldat.pl/en/) is a 2d shooter which is pretty addictive. There's no built in server lobby but you can always go here (http://rr.soldat.pl/) for the external server lobby. Supports many different game types including:
- Free for all - kill everyone, get x amount of kills or get the most kills in x time
- Team vs Team (vs Team vs Team) - Up to four teams go at it and kill each other.
- CTF - It's capture the flag, pretty much self explanitory
- Infiltration - One team plays the infiltrators and have to get the flag the other team plays the protectors and have to protect the flag.
- Rambo - Like free for all but the guns suck. Each level gets a bow the players fight over which shoots exploding arrows which don't suck.
- Zombie Apocalypse - Player built game type specific to servers. X amount of players fight off the enroaching zombie hoard. Some servers have you levelling up, some have you getting infected, and some have money systems.
- Trench War - Take the game and throw on a coat of realism (ie: Reduce overall health, remove rocket boots, turn on falling damage, only able to see line of sight and more realistic gun kickback), then enter a giant, long ctf stage with trenches and cover built in. Points awarded for kills and flag captures. Very strategic.
