So, apparently the locale I currently live in takes Halloween pretty seriously. And by seriously, I mean they go all out. My brother, a dental student, made vampire teeth from casts of his own canines, that he linked together in something of the style of a bridge. Apparently, they were good enough that without glue or anything he could wear them while eating steak

So I'm clearly going to have to put an immense amount of effort into my costume, and I'm drawing a blank on what I could do. At this point the only real stipulation is that it can't be female, I'm not exactly into cross dressing (even on halloween).

Just looked at your screen name, and thought Grand Admiral Thrawn could be cool.

I wonder how I would do the blue skin and red eyes.

Body paint + red tinted contact lenses?

In a pinch, blue foodcoloring can give you a dark blue stain to your skin temporarily.

Body paint is probably a much better idea and you should be able to find out where to get some if they're that into it.

For work I'm going to be Black Hat Man (http://xkcd.com/374/) at work (white clothes, electrical tape for the 'body' and a black hat, with a paper plate or black marker around my face).

For our Halloween party, I'm not sure. But I totally vote doing a webcomic character even if no one else knows who you are, lol.

Maybe go as a ninja. That usually does it for me.

Well, I do have a black Gi. I could probably get the mask from a balaclava or something and I have black gloves.

Hmmmm, really leaves only the shoes.

Some ideas:

-the Joker from the one scene in the Dark Knight where he's dressed as a nurse
-Brad Pitt's character from Inglorious Basterds
-any of the six main characters from Watchmen if you want to conform (you and two other friends could go as Dr. Manhattan and have someone go as Silk Spectre).

Blue body paint is easy to find at any decent costume shop. My wife went as Smurfette a couple years ago and spent the evening looking resplendent in cobalt.

So... naked? I think that depends pretty heavily on what sort of parties you're going to.

For the party I'm going to, I'm trying to find either a pre-made Dr. Horrible costume or the right things to make one. So far, very little luck since that style lab coat has been near impossible to find.

I saw at wally's world a couple of Mario & Luigi costumes that looked awesome for 25 bucks.
