I know the internet contains loads and lodes of awesome, and I've stumbled upon some of it, been directed to other parts of it, but I always end up staring at my computer screen at a loss of where to go next at least a couple times a week.

What are some of your favorite web sites that you think are interesting or fun or whatever?

For instance, Xkcd (http://Xkcd.com), comixed (http://comixed.com), pretty fed up (http://www.prettyfedup.com/pfu/specialintroductory/specialintroductory.htm), and so on.

Obviously folks, no PRON, nothing illegal, no Goatses (please god, no goatses!), etc.

Science Fiction Fantasy Chronicles (sffchronicles.co.uk/forum) - a place for writers and readers of the aforementioned genres, Legend of the Green Dragon (http://logd.darktech.org) - a text-based RPG; small community, awesome game. I'm a fan of Omegle (http://omegle.com/). Basically you get connected to another person on the site at that moment, chosen at random. You don't know each others names and the idea is that you have a conversation with that person.

Be warned however: a LOT of the people on there have nothing better to do than try and chat people up, if someone opens with a/s/l (age/sex/location) it's better to just disconnect and try again. There are also a disproportionate amount of /b/tards on there who will just be offensive/stupid/hateful for no other reason than to give themselves a thrill.

However there are also a lot of interesting people. I had a convo with a person from Greece for over an hour about everything from surfing to magic.

YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/). Contains many great videos, but the comments section on videos just might make you lose your faith in humanity.

TVTropes (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HomePage). It's informational, interesting, and can make you spend several hours in a row looking at it.

HeavenGames (http://www.heavengames.com/) has plenty of information and downloadable material for several computer games (mostly strategy).

SFDebris (http://www.sfdebris.com/main.asp) provides fun and opinionated reviews on Star Trek (and recently also Red Dwarf) episodes, although I suggest subscribing to the YouTube channel instead, only checking the site now and then for written reviews.

eRepublik (http://www.erepublik.com/en) is an interesting little browser game. There are some threads in Gaming about it.

FunOrb (http://www.funorb.com/) is a site full of various "free" games, run by RuneScape developer Jagex. Interesting games include Armies of Gielinor (RuneScape as a TBS) and Arcanists (Worms, but with wizards).

FAIL Blog (http://failblog.org/), Engrish Funny (http://engrishfunny.com/), Probably Bad News (http://probablybadnews.com/), and Tofulator (http://www.tofulator.com/) (I think they're connected somehow) are good for quick laughs. Don't read the comments, however. This is your only warning.

Revealing Errors (http://revealingerrors.com/) is like FAIL Blog, but intelligent.

Mr. Kitty International (http://www.misterkitty.org/) has lots of scans of weird (and hilarious) comic books.

Cracked (http://www.cracked.com/) has some fun stuff, but I wouldn't recommend it to smaller children.

Paizo (http://paizo.com/) is a great site if you want to buy old roleplaying material and other nerdy things. Be warned, though, it can get quite expensive if you're not American.
