I don't know how, but I'm sure this is all Copper's fault. There I was, just minding my own business, contentedly ripping 'Lids into bloody chunks when all of a sudden, I wound up in this godforsaken desert. Those weaklings at Fort Fri would probably have blamed this on those Snakemen furiously working on some kind of machine when I broke into their lab, but that was their fear talking. *I* knew better. Had to be Copper.

Anyway, after a day of wandering around, I ran into a bunch of hideously mutated giant scorpions. Looked like they'd escaped from the base kitchen, to be honest. Fought like it, too. Wound up shredding my armor, which was a minor loss compared to the fact that one of them crushed my gun! My precious bayonet laser rifle!

The next few days are kind of a depressed, wandering blur, to be honest. I mean, that rifle meant the world to me! I'd never found anything that could thwack nearly as well as Cubey's present.

That's probably how these "Brotherhood" guys managed to shanghai me into their little outfit. I mean, the state I was in? I probably wouldn't even have noticed a Reaper walking down the street. Mmmmm...Reaperburgers.

Anyway, I went through their laughable "basic training" program with ease, and the next thing they did was to give me a gun, two grunts, and tell me to perform a standard "Sweep and clear" op. 'Course, they didn't quite call it that, but really, from a group that only had a 15% graduation rate from *that* pathetic program? Even Tengu could have made it through that without using those sissy psychic powers!

But if recruits are being recruited, I submit Philadelphia Stein. Tagged skills Energy Weapons, Repair, and Science, and primary stats are P, I, A, and L, for a basic Sniper/Techie combo.

I knew there had to be a reason for the missing laser rifle on the report back in July.

I just assumed it had to be drunken attempts to break open an alien spaceship with it. The alternate dimension theory has considerably more merit.

What the crap? A broken bottle, 3 bottles of rum, a bottle of something called "Nuka-Cola" (not a nuclear weapon, I was sad to learn), two "Happy Pies", a knife, a stimmie, and an MP-5 with 72 rounds of ammo? They expected me to storm a hostile encampment with this? No Lopez? No lasers? I turned to Stitch and decided to learn more about the OPFOR.

"Ok, Doc. Spill it. What's with these 'Raider' types?"

Stitch paled. Hmm...this could be a challenge. Maybe they're renegade Mutons or...

"They're murderous thugs and ruffians! They steal anything they want and kill for the fun of it! Some people say they're even cannibals!"

"Wait...so, they're humans? No bullet-proof carapaces?"

"Uhhh...no?"

"No razor-sharp claws, no musclear bodies that can rip a man's spine out and beat him with it?" (ahhh, good times)

"Uhhh....no?"

"What the crap? You guys are WORRIED about this? Lemme show you how it's done."

I mean, reporting for duty. I'll happily shoot things as long as it keeps the thwacking at a reasonable minimum.

I'd shoot even happier with some rum, though.
You know, it's quite arid here, and some rum could help against my dry throat. A lot of rum could help me imagine it's actually a really huge pirate island with hidden treasure everywhere.


Of course, if you don't want to share, that's fine too. I'm sure the locks around here aren't too good.
