View Full Version : Give me some cheesily awesome/metal nicknames

Pauwel

I just joined a doom metal band where most of the members have taken purposedly silly nicknames; the guitarist calls himself Agrippa (as in the Roman general) and the bassist calls himself Zod (as in DC's General Zod). I wanted to re-name myself in a similar fashion, but even though I like to think of myself as being at least fairly creative I thought it would be easier to just ask for suggestions here. =P

So, got any good ideas for a lazy musician?

Every band needs a 'mysterious' bandmember, just like there always has to be a 'tough guy'. I suggest rolling them into one and calling yourself 'The Kommissar'.
On the one hand, you won't have an actual 'name', just a shady title. On the other hand, your name will sound badass.

I think you should name yourself Bong. That's quite silly. And it will fit if you play stoner-doom.

Surly: In regards to the last name suggestion. But then Perry the Platypus would show up and you'd have a awesome metal-band-rock-off and you'd lose. >.>

Yes, but you're unlikely to get famous within metal (since you don't seem to listen to much of it), so both of you using the name is unlikely to cause any difficulties.

Haha, thanks for all the suggestions so far. Keep 'em coming!

Should have mentioned that I'm on keyboards, samplers and effects, and I also sing and growl/scream.

get your band to pick a name for you

and have the the names all run on a themeOn the one hand, that's conformist, which is not metal.

On the other hand, it's lazy, which is very metal.

Just go with the Metalocalypse character names:

Nathan Explosion
Skwisgaar Skwigelf
Toki Wartooth
Pickles
William MurderfaceConsidering that "Dethklok" (really, the guys that play instruments for the show, but they bill as Dethklok) actually publishes albums and tours, this will probably get you in trouble as well as being lame and unoriginal.

Except Pickles. That's both too awesome and too general to be concerned about.

Hey, >.> I listen to plenty of Folkmetal and Amorphis! >.>

Yes, but you've never seemed like enough of a metalhead to seriously pursue a career in the genre.
