Barely got game, been playing it, looks great, nice attention to detail...

...but the "-" and "+" keys don't work, has anybody else had this problem? It's horrible, I can't change stats, items, or anything else at the beginning of the game.

I'm in key binding, but it's a big list, what would it be called?

For the + and - keys, you gotta use the keypad ones. Then ones above your [] keys won't work.

My computer (laptop) has no numpad and it's fine (if a bit slow on higher populations). You don't need to have those keys to be able to remap them to something else. The remap menu is huge but only the top few screenfuls of it are important unless you want to do some advanced changes.

I used "[" and "]" for the (IIRC) secondary selection. I forget if that's z-level changes too.

no, Z-level changes are '<' and '>'

In the key list I'm pretty sure it's secondary selector or something. Only thing I'm sure of is the secondary part.

It's a little way down on the list.

You're looking for "Move/Page secondary selector up/down." In 0.28.181.40d16, it's about halfway down the "System" list on the "Key Bindings" screen in the Escape menu. Personally, I prefer setting up and down to [ and ], respectively, with - and = set to page up/down, respectively. (Don't forget to hit s to save your settings afterwards!)

In 0.28.181.40d (without numbers after the "40d"), you're better off editing the data\init\interface.txt file directly -- but since inserting extra [ and ] in the text files tends to royally mess things up, you have to use "KEY_DB" and "KEY_DD" instead, should you wish to use those keys.
