Where are the costs and times for researching new spells? I can't seem to find them.

Edit: Nevermind, the cost isn't in there. Check pages 31-50 of your DMG.

Assuming you mean a non-epic spell, there's no real listed cost/supply thing, but you'd probably have to talk to your DM, use at least as much gp in materials as would cost to scribe the spell in the first place, and come up with something that is overall less effective than a given spell of that level.

Whoops, found it, p 198 of DMG, 1k/wk of level of spell, then a spellcraft check to see if you research a viable spell, which is still up to the DM if your spell is even viable after all that expenditure.
