Should die-roll test be replaced?

The thread "How do you roll dice on the site???" (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?p=7017642#post7017642) has reached a grand total of 72 pages?

I know that the usual rule is for threads to be no longer than 50 pages before being locked and replaced, is this particular thread an exception to that rule?
