[3.5] Question about Whirling frenzy variant

The SRD doesn't indicate whether the additional attack from the Whirling frenzy variant has to be part of a full round action, but this would seem to be necessary as most other additional attacks of this type require it. You get the extra attacks only while full attacking. The Whirling Frenzy entry may not say this, but the Full Attack (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsincombat.htm#fullAttack) entry does. That entry is not overridden unless a feat/other thing does so explicitly.
