View Full Version : 3.5 Two-weapon fighting question.

I've got a math question. I'm not so great with numbers, and the PHB certainly hasn't been of any help with this, so I turned to the forums.

I'm making a Frenzied Berserker who fights with two axes, and I'm running into some issues figuring out how the attack bonuses work. I think I'm overthinking this, but I've got no clue how the numbers work out. Here's what I know:

-I've got a BAB of +7/+2.
-My off hand weapon is light, and I've got TWF and ITWF.
-I can frenzy, which gives me another attack at my highest BAB.
-I'm small sized, giving me a +1 to hit.
-My off-hand weapon is a +1 handaxe. My main-hand weapon has no modifier.
-My strength bonus is a +6.

My question is thus: What in the nine hells is my attack bonus?

- +7 BAB
- -2 for TWF
- +1 for Small
- +1 for Enhancement Bonus
- +6 for Strength

Your main hand: +12/+7
Your off hand: +13/+8

I believe when you gain extra attacks, it can be made with either hand, so you can go either +12/+12/+7 or +13/+13/+8

I'd recommend replacing the off hand with, at least, a masterwork weapon. They're not expensive at all (300gp more than the regular one), and grant an additional +1 to hit.

Unless your off hand is unarmed strike. If that's the case, I recommend looking into armor spikes, as an alternative option for accuracy.

Doesn't Frenzy give you a +6 STR bonus that adds with the +4 from rage?

To expand slightly, because of the (I)TWF line... your full attack would be :

+12 (primary hand), +13 (off hand), +7 (primary hand), +8 (off hand). And because of Frenzy, you get one additional attack, either at +12 primary or +13 secondary. So, +12/+13/+7/+8, plus your frenzy attack.

Ancient Realms: Yeah, it does. I was trying to keep the numbers down. Adding an extra +5 isn't difficult once the rest of the nonsense is incorporated.

Not yet. It's only an 8th level game, and I've got a +1 level adjustment with the feral template.
