The relevant article is here (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2009/10/02/quiz-to-do-also-kieron-murdered/#more-18961).

I got Seeker Conqueror.

Classic traditions of Alexander the Great and Caesar, all that. Seems reasonable.

Conqueror-Mastermind.
Your BrainHex Class is Conqueror.

Your BrainHex Class Your BrainHex Sub-Class is Conqueror-Mastermind.

You like defeating impossibly difficult foes, struggling until you eventually achieve victory, and beating other players as well as solving puzzles and devising strategies.

According to your results, there are few play experiences that you strongly dislike.

Your scores for each of the classes in this test were as follows:
Conqueror: 17
Mastermind: 14
Seeker: 14
Socialiser: 10
Achiever: 6
Daredevil: 4
Survivor: 4Seems accurate. I play mostly strategy games, I like the competition with other players, and right now I'm playing I Wanna Be The Guy, it doesn't get any more "struggling against impossible odds".

Interesting it picked Mastermind as secondary class when it got the same amount of points as Seeker. I'm not sure what Seeker is, but assuming it refers to the "must collect everything!" mentality some of the questions seemed to allude to, I'm surprised it got that many points - I answered all of those rather to the negative. Or does it rather have something to do with enjoying the scenery or "moments of beauty", as the test expressed it? That would likely explain my high score therein then...

Yeah.

Seeker's the guys who Valve describes in the commentaries as being rewarded with amazing views of the area.

Which makes Metroid and Minerva Metastasis pretty much dream games for Seeker Conquerors such as myself.

Is there some sort of bias going on here - i.e., were their questions formulated in a way making Conquerors more likely? Or are Conquerors more likely drawn into reading/posting on gaming forums? Or to roleplaying games?

None of the above seem particularly likely, and yet, it seems a bit too prevalent to be pure coincidence...

Yeah, seems relatively accurate.
Although the difference between Conqueror and Mastermind confuses me. Judging by the questions and how they apparently relate to the results, someone who enjoys tactical challenges should be a Conqueror, yet the descriptions imply that I should have a higher Mastermind rating which I didn't get due to my dislike for everything remotely related to a riddle or puzzle or other such nonsense.

Your BrainHex Class Your BrainHex Sub-Class is Seeker-Achiever.

You like finding strange and wonderful things or finding familiar things as well as collecting anything you can collect or doing everything you possibly can.
Seems good so far. I like finding everything, but I usually don't like riddles or inch-by-inch scouring necessary to find them.

Exceptions are:
» No Mercy: You rarely if ever care about hurting other players' feelings - mercy is for the weak!
Couldn't be more wrong. If I have any flaw regarding mercy, it's probably that I'm too merciful. EDIT: Except if someone betrays me, where it seems like I'm far more merciless than most others. "What do you mean I have to atone for executing my captured brother? He betrayed me!".

» No Pressure: You dislike being asked to perform under pressure, preferring to take your time so you can make the right decision.
» No Fear: You do not enjoy feeling afraid, preferring to feel safe or in control.
Completely true too.

Scores:
Seeker: 12
Achiever: 8
Mastermind: 6
Conqueror: 4

It seems like the test are missing some types, because the achiever doesn't fit and to me seems more like the seeker is my secondary type, rather than my primary one.

Actually, I believe the defining aspect of what they call 'Conqueror' is overcoming difficult challenges and competition with other players, not necessarily a preference for tactical challenges. Whereas Mastermind seems to be mostly about a preference for intellectual challenges, exemplified by, well, precisely those riddles and puzzles you deride.
Which would again imply that players who enjoy tactical challenges would have high ratings in Conqueror (http://onlyagame.typepad.com/brainhex/conqueror.html) and Mastermind (http://onlyagame.typepad.com/brainhex/mastermind.html), whereas those who like difficult boss fights in shooters would likely have high Conqueror and Daredevil (http://onlyagame.typepad.com/brainhex/daredevil.html) (and possibly Survivor (http://onlyagame.typepad.com/brainhex/survivor.html)) scores.

Also, I'm highly efficiency-minded, which is a Mastermind's trait.
Yet, I've got a low rating there, and although I'm really more of a tactician and not so much of a strategist, that seems to be mainly because I don't like riddles. So I guess I'm an exception that the test can't really handle in its current form, possibly because the answers' weighting doesn't seem to be very sophisticated - if I repeatedly tell it that I don't like riddles, I will get a low Mastermind score because each instance brings it down as much as the last one, regardless of other answers that would hint at someone who shows some Mastermind traits, but not all.

Apart from that, though, it really is accurate, although I think that one or two categories could be added as well.

Apart from that, though, it really is accurate, although I think that one or two categories could be added as well.Well, I also think some of the questions are a bit... suggestive.

Like the ones about speed. Ask me whether I enjoy vertigo or not being in control, and I'll likely respond in the negative. On the other hand, I quite like having to think on my feet, adjust my plans quickly and I don't mind having to react rapidly either.

Or the ones about scariness. "Do you like being scared or disturbed?" is much more likely to be denied than "Do you enjoy an immersive dark atmosphere?". The former might have the very same people wondering "Who would do that?" who would reply to the latter with "Ah, like in Thief or Bioshock or something? Sure!".

I know of at least one person (me) who's answer to "Do you like being scared or disturbed?" would be "Hate it", but who woudl answer yes to "Do you enjoy an immersive dark atmosphere featuring horrible eldritch horrors?".

To expand on my previous idea: perhaps they lack a "roleplayer" type, someone to whom the response (whether being scared, mentally stimulated through intellectual challenges or experiencing an adrenaline-rush) isn't as important as the reason (Eldritch horrors in a Cthulhu inspired atmosphere, tactical decisions in a RTS or a the fast cars in a racing game).
