In your opinion which comic is...

... the funniest?
... the most touching?
... the most profound?
... the most important for the main plot?
... the most sad? (should I write "most sad" or "saddest"? the second one really seems awkward :smallfrown:)
... just the best one?

Ok, I'll start . In order:

- http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0496.html
- http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0490.html
- Not sure about this one, maybe http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0462.html
- really don't know
- I really like the first three ones I linked, but this is in my top list too: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0372.html

Why is this on the bottom of the page? o.O

Funniest: "Eye of the Tiger, Baby" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0391.html)
Every time I read it, it cracks me up. I have no idea why, honestly, but it does :)

Most Touching: "Not for Everyone" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0464.html)
I was never a big fan of her's, but, dang, did this have me teary. "Responsible" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0496.html) was an insanely close second, though....

Most Profound: "Every Parent's Worst Nightmare" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0628.html)
Depending on how you define "profound", the look on V's face and the train of thought that came with it in the last panel rendered me near catatonic for nigh-on 10 minutes.

Most Important: "Gate? What Gate?" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0096.html) and "Evil Plans" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0097.html)
This is the first time ever we learn about the Gate...which has to be the single most important thing in this entire comic.

Saddest: "He's Dead, Jim" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0444.html) and "A Song for the Departed" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0445.html)
I can't choose...they both made me cry.

Best: "Oratory of the Stick" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0421.html)
The Speech was is one of my favorite movie scenes, ever. Elan's little twist on it just makes it all that much better :)

I nominate #316 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0316.html) for... well... most of those categories. It's alternately laugh-out-loud funny, touching, sad and profound, and the timing is nothing less than perfect.

And it's probably the most "important" strip to me because it was the one that changed my opinion of OotS from "entertaining but occasionally cringeworthy" to "minor masterpiece".

Funniest Seeing Orange (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0439.html) oh dear gods it had me crying with laughter

Touching Oh, right that other problem (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0679.html) just hir acceptance of her mistakes, paying the price and not flaking on the quest shows epic level character

Profound Mr(s). Wizard Explains it all (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0145.html), tis truly a deep insight into both drama and d and d, moreso because i read this comic after rolling a typhoon dragon as a random and spent 6 hours dealing with it...

Important is easily A Familiar Conclusion (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0672.html) because THAT is how you end and start a story arc

Saddest...well Another Choice (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0593.html) got me...the half orc taking what she can get and choosing to die with that, i dunno it gets me

Best??
Tough one, seeing as individually they arent as good when you take them outta context...but for pure awesomeness that will sear your retinas, jolly good amusement, character expansion, meme creation, art work that makes you flinch in pain, the dour expression when he realizes he cant reach, giving a shark facial expressions, clarifying the "can they hear the roaches?" question, the title and, mostly, for giving me the idea of smiting evil with your fist

In Azure City, Shark Jump You! (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0542.html)

Funniest: wow, so (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0228.html) many (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0389.html) contenders (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0607.html)... how to pick one (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0538.html)?

Most touching: Choice (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0642.html). Or Another Choice (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0593.html). Choices in general are not good.

Most profound: The Philosophy of Chaos (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0606.html)

Most important? We can't know that until we get to the end of the plot. So really, that'll always be "the most recent one", until the end.

Saddest? See "Most touching".

Best: See "Funniest".

Best: "Oratory of the Stick" (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0421.html)
The Speech was one of my favorite movie scenes, ever. Elan's little twist on it just makes it all that much better :)

Which speech? There's at least six famous speeches that Elan butchers in that strip.

The Funniest:Multiclass Discrimination (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0209.html)
I just can't stop laughing at Miko getting mad because she can't be a samurai...

Most Touching:Cages(Steel and Otherwise) (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0654.html)
O-Chul making his speech to the MitD and I think that by saying he is "a good man" O-Chul says they are both equal. In the very end MitD calls O-Chul for his real name instead of Mr.Stiffly

Most Profound:The Philosofy of Chaos (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0606.html)Shojo tells Belkar that he needs to change his life with a explanation of life that simply cannot be outmatched philosophically.Hell,I almost used that speech as well once, and it laters becomes the password to remove the curse,EVOLVE OR DIE!

Note:I would put Most Toching and Most Profound results alongside Change of Direction (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0451.html) The first time Redcloak sees his actions and how evil he is becoming, and notices that as the hobgoblin's supreme leader and High Priest of the Dark One he can't just let them die like that.I think it also shows the first sign that he can get redemption

Most Important to Plot:The Crayons of Time(273-277)I am not going to put the link because there are too many. When Shojo tells the history of their world and explains how all those events are connected

Saddest:A Song to the Departed (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0445.html)That tune is catchy

Best:Sorry I can't just say one so here we go
Seeing Orange (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0439.html)Belkar claims his divinity for the first time!
Endurance Feat (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0547.html)The prisioners get morale and they may start a rebellion
At Azure City,Sharks Jump at you (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0542.html)O-Chul shows us his endurance

Funniest: #190 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0190.html),:xykon: "*sniff* my little Redcloak is all grown up." never gets old.
Most profound: I nominate #642 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0641.html), it makes me feel emotional, without much of a humorous atmosphere. Plus, it has caused an enormous debate.
Most touching: #128: (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0128.html) to see Elan and V make up is touching.
Most important: #96 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0096.html) because of the gate thingy.
Saddest: #84 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0084.html) because of all the sadness Durkons lawfulness caused. (His Obeisance score must be, like: 925436773)
Best: It's a tie between #504 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0504.html) because of the joke on scrying being SOOOOOOO true, and #409 (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0409.html) because it is just so satisfying watching an ex-paladin Miko smacked unconscious by Roy, being the target of Roy and Hinjos jokes, and getting kicked by Belkar.

This one http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0611.html and this one http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0612.html tie. They are not necessarily the funniest or most dramatic, but they are the only ones that made me hear the triumphant guitar sting from Naruto in my head, and that must be worth some recognition.

Funniest?
Cultural Differences (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0149.html) always made me smile , but I think it ties for the first place with Flight of the Phylactery (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0659.html)... it took me completely off guard, and made me laugh. Hard.

Most touching?
Cure Moderate Hurt Feelings (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0172.html) was very nice. The smile on V's face is just priceless...
Oh, and an honorable mention goes to A brief Tribute (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0536.html), of course.

Most profound?
I agree that Change of Direction (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0451.html) gives us the first real insight of the most tragic figure in the comic.

Most important for the main plot?
Easily For the future (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0331.html), and the fact that we're still arguing on the forum about this one after more than 350 strips, backs me up.

The best one?
This is mighty hard to decide, but I'll go with We can do this the easy way (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0442.html)... THAT is what I call an epic showdown. :smalltongue:

I'm not to sure about any of the other categories, but I think the funniest would be Xykon's face in Land of the Rising... (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0449.html)

EDIT: I think most profound might be Second Chance (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0657.html)
