I need a background song for each individual member of the OotS, so far I can think of a great one for Durkon and Haley only:
-:roy: Ain't no mountain high enough (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph5iadqH3Eg), by Diana Ross
-:haley: The song I chose for her is: Money -by Pink Floyd (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXQg7Oir1Bg)
-:durkon: No question, Canadian idiot. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_TfBbR6L0M). For self-explanitory reasons.
-:vaarsuvius: I told you I was freaky. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-dAgTpIiI2I&feature=related) by Flight of the Conchords, I don't know what make me think about V in this, but something makes it feel perfect.
-:elan: Tribute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcJwz7wu8_s) by Tenacious D.
-:belkar: Another one bites the dust. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNQRfBAzSzo) by Queen. How on EARTH did I miss this?!
Thanks, now there all chosen.

Canadian Idiot for Durkon? For shame! It has to be Immigrant Song (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/l/led+zeppelin/immigrant+song_20082032.html)!

I think Sick Puppies - You're Going Down (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2bohKixLt8) fits Belkar very well... "Define your meaning of War... to me its what we do when we're bored" :P

Yes! Hammar of the gods (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d81ovrP82S8) and all that.

Of course, for Belkar there are some rather obvious choices (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hka8jKueLaQ).

For Elan the song Tribute (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pcJwz7wu8_s) strikes me because 1) it's very silly, 2) it tells a story and is generally in a kind of bard-y style, and 3) it's about defeating a demon with music, which is more-or-less the bard's whole shtick. Or, at least, they wish it was. The song doesn't seem entirely right to me, but it's a thought.

The Devil Went Down to Georgia (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3FRtkek-Et4) is another one along the same vein. (Video chosen because stop motion is a lost art form. Probably not the best version as far as the music goes.)

Albuquerque by Weird Al.

That's actually a pretty good idea.

Also, for the same guy, The Safety Dance. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HcOZ6xFxJqg)

All my suggestions seem to be for Elan. Um, for Belkar there's always the Genocide Song. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLeWvh1yb1A) (Also in English! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTX0zRiSWp8&feature=related))

Also for Belkar, Another one Bites the Dust. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNQRfBAzSzo)

Self-explanatory? It's a song in which every single line is mocking Canada. What does Durkon have to do with Canada? The only line in the whole song that fits him at all is the "Can't understand a thing they're talking aboot" one.

I don't really associate Durkon with cheesy pop-punk, either. As others have said, "Immigrant Song" fits him to a tee. He even uses it as a battle cry in one of the bonus strips.

:xykon: Bad To The Bone- George Thorogood & The Destroyers
Yes. Especially since it's the tagline on the back of SoD.

Alternative suggestions:
:roy: "Ain't No Mountain High Enough (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ph5iadqH3Eg)" - for determination
:durkon: "Tubthumping (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fm4iU0yx9GY)" - for services to bartenders
:vaarsuvius: "Firestarter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmin5WkOuPw)" - for specialism, although really the lyrics and attitude would fit Belkar just as well
:elan: "Sing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYjcNR7W-Ow)" - for incurable optimism and simplemindedness
:haley: "You & Your Hand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eP1GCCS-hrk)" - for general attitude, and the line "Keep your drink just give me the money"
:belkar: "War Machine", which I've never heard and really don't want to, but the lyrics (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/WAR-MACHINE-lyrics-Kiss/FD2E542C2FB7EF6648256A8B000AA759) are a perfect fit.

Try finding instrumental music for character themes. Popular songs complete with lyrics generally distract from what anyone is saying, so those are only used for really cool action sequences.

From War and XPs page 323a:

Durkon has started sing "Immigrant Song".

Elan: "Wait a minute. Is that a dwarven battle challenge, or are those just Led Zeppelin Lyrics?"

Roy: "Both. It turns out that Led Zeppeling lyrics ARE a valid dwarven battle challenge."

Quite fun piece actually with durkon challenging a tree to combat:)

He sings THREE Led Zeppelin songs. "The Immigrants", "No Quarter (http://www.sing365.com/music/lyric.nsf/No-quarter-lyrics-Led-Zeppelin/CAF962D10084942248256887000303EC)" (also very Durkon as Thor is in it) and "Dancing Days (http://www.lyricsfreak.com/l/led+zeppelin/dancing+days_20081963.html)". Roy pulls him away from the tree before he tells it it's "climbing a stairway to heaven."

Kudos to Burlew for merging "The Immigrants" with "No Quarter", I actually thought they were the same song but my Dad (a big Zeppelin fan) told me there were three.

or Xykon. I mean, he is undead and Richard mentions the fact that he is in the song.

Also, as a whole, I once listened to the Beginning is the End is the Beginning is the End (however many times that repeats) by Smashing Pumpkins while reading SoD and it really set the mood.

...That's not a bad fit, actually. Tone isn't ideal, but the lyrics are a good match.
