I've been looking into purchasing some strap locks for a while and was wondering if any of you guitarists have a brand of strap lock you'd recommend? I've read some reviews on musicians friend but they tend to be varied on each product so I figured I'd ask you folks. The guitar I use is a PRS Paul Allender SE if that helps at all.

I prefer strap locks (http://img3.musiciansfriend.com/dbase/pics/products/0/8/7/482087.jpg). I think they're more durable.
Also, the most important part of the strap is how padded it is compared to the weight of the guitar (if you're planning on playing live). I use an extra padded one for my les paul. It looks something like this (http://www.fclefbasses.com/upload/bgstrap2.png)

im looking at getting an vintage jap guitar, and the models im looking at usually range between 4-5 kilos, so a wide strap will be essentially

those 3" cliplock straps are pretty comfortable though, they spread the weight about evenly. Only become an issue of you're playing sans-clothing and then you might get a bit of rub (but thats expected). If you're still having problems while wearing a 3" strap then go to a bass shop and instead for your strap needs

Yeah I was intending to use strap locks as opposed to clip locks due to durability and that I don't particularly like the look of clip locks.
