Hi,

How do I place spoiler tags around desired text?

This is a spoiler tag

[spoiler]This is a spoiler tag[ /spoiler]

If you ever want to see how someone does something in html (doesn't work with dice rolls), just click the quote button in the bottom right of their post and you'll see how they wrote the code.

In spite of people asking for one about 2-3 times a year, there's no button to add spoiler tags, so you have to do it manually like this.

Why have they never made a button for it.

Because only the cool kids are supposed to know how. Just like [noparse] :smallwink:

It's not high on the priority list, and I don't know if anyone has submitted a button style for it that'd fit with the design.

I seem to remember Rawhide saying that if someone wants to make a button that fits the style, and is the right size, they might add it.

Noparce you say? What's that do?Lets you write vBB tags like this inside it without the tags being "parsed" into formatting.

Ahhh so that's how people do that. Thanks very much Nerd-o-rama.

Back when I joined these forums we had no fancy buttons for bolding, italicizing, and making colors. We had to do everything manually. And that's the way I liked it

*old man grumble*

Yeah. We had a fair number of submissions, too. Rawhide said he wanted a few more before choosing one, but the thread kind of died shortly there after.

I thought the giant had a NO PERIOD policy on letting fans help with the site.
