Anyone have any favorite funny D&D memories they'd like to share?
One of my favorites was when our party encountered a dragon sleeping in front of a cave entrance at the bottom of a cliff. Figuring I would die in the battle anyway, my character circled around to the top of the cliff and jumped, holding his spear so he'd impale the dragon.
I figured I'd die from the massive amounts of falling damage but maybe I could take the dragon with me or at least hurt him enough that the rest of the party could deal with him.
It was a great idea, until I hit and the party learned that it was a very life-like stone STATUE of a dragon. My fall served no purpose except to alert the giants living in the cave that they had visitors.
