So I'm going to be entering a game soon that'll be in Ravenloft, and our GM says that we have to state which PrCs we want to qualify for BEFORE playing our character. Problem is, I don't know anything about Ravenloft and I don't own the books, so I don't know what PrCs are in Ravenloft. I'm playing a Wizard, and if it's not in Ravenloft or the DMG, it's not allowed (apparently), so that's where I turn to GitP:

Are there any spectacularly good PrCs in Ravenloft I should be aware of?

What level are you starting at?

I don't see how Ravenloft would really be any more restrictive than any other settings in that regard, other than with regards to deity-specifics mayhap.

The 3.5 adventure Expedition to Castle Ravenloft has it's own PrC, Knight of the Raven.

Fairly irrelevant to the topic that.

If you're starting at level 3, there's almost no reason to declare your allegiance for Archmage. Level 10, maybe.

We're starting at 1, and it is his rule that I have to declare all intended PrCs before hand.

(Sorry about not including that earlier).

In DMG: Archmage and Loremaster are good for a Wizard.

Don't know anything about Ravenloft.

The quick and easy about Wizards in Ravenloft.

1. Move around much.
2. Be very careful when casting "evil" spells
3. Avoid casting spells when others are watching.
4. When the church of Belenus is close, you RUN.

Knight of the Raven is a really great PrC, but only for divine casters. If your DM is using just Expedition to Castle Ravenloft, there aren't any PrCs or Alternate Class Features that work for wizards. I'm not sure about the 3rd party Ravenloft books... but if you could tell us what books the DM has available, maybe someone else can point out something that would work for a wizard.

Ok, looks like I'm going to try to go loremaster -> archmage. Thanks!
