Silence: If you're siblings... Why is she touching you?

Contrary to popular belief, one sibling is not composed of antimatter of the other's matter. In fact, upon physical contact no annihilation at all will occur.

Upon consideration of this principle, many siblings have concluded that physical contact is not only acceptable, but is to be encouraged. Indeed, friendly contact between friends or relatives is often used to show trust and comfort. Although it may seem unnatural and dangerous, rest assured that physical contact between siblings is very natural. As long as reasonable personal boundaries are respected, it can be a positive experience for all parties involved.

I drink beer!

As long as it's ale on not larger. e_e:smallsigh:

"Beer" is divided into to two major categories, lagers and ales. These are based on the type of yeast used and the temperatures at which those yeasts thrive. A pilsener falls under the subcategorization of pale lager and is characterized by a more "hoppy" flavor (Pilsener Urquell being a model example of this style). Bud and Coors, while similar and also pale lagers (derived from pilseners, no less), are considered American style lagers, characterized by their use of non-traditional grains for the malt process, such as rice and corn, giving them a milder flavor that is less offensive to the palate of the masses.

Again, I must stress that "lager" is a very, very broad category of beer and one shouldn't discount all styles because of a preconceived notion that all lagers are like pilseners or American style lagers*. Examples of other very popular styles are the bock, Vienna, dunkel, and Oktoberfest. Each has it's own distinct flavors and characteristics. For example, a bock starts with a very high specific gravity and the result is a lager that is very rich and heavy and almost sweet to taste. A doppelbock (double bock) even moreso.

The same goes for ales. There is a world of difference between a hefeweizen (literally "wheat beer"), an India pale ale (or IPA), and a porter. A lambic is a very specific kind of ale that's fermented using wild yeasts (the fermenters aren't sealed, so whatever yeast is floating around in the air can get in and effect the flavor) that produces some very distinctive and interesting characteristics.

*I'd also like to emphasize that not all beers made in America are American style lagers and that there are a great many fantastic beers brewed here that have nothing in common with the traditional Bud or Coors.

Anuan

Some beer are nice, some others are awful (Heineken, I am looking at you).
They all share one common characteristic. One 330 ml bottle is more than enough to make Smee quite drunk.

Spoilered for off-topickeyness-
Comparing "ales vs lagers" is not like comparing "red wines vs white wines". There is so much variety and overlap that a comparison along those lines is meaningless. It's better to state preferences based on other characteristics, such as Malt or Hop. Even Dark or Light beers is a better axis for comparison, but by itself may not be enough (for example, where does Amber fall into that breakdown?).

Here is common example I can give that breaks down the ale/lager lines as far as preferences go. Many people like Guinness Draught. it's a fine example of a dark, porter style ale that is held up as an example "beer worth drinkin'!" But then, so is another Irish favorite, Harp, which tends to be lighter and slightly more hoppy than Guinness, with a crisp, clean finish to it. Guess what? It's a lager, brewed by the folks that make Guinness. (We wouldn't dare claim Guinness makes a bad beer, would we?)

Scotch Ale (dark) or India Pale Ale (light), on the other hand, are not for the timid. These tend to be beers that bite back but many love the bold flavors associated with them. Newcastle Brown Ale, falls to the other end of the spectrum on hops but is still moderately full bodied on the "malt" side of the scale. In a similar vein to this is St. Pauli Girl Special Dark, a dark lager style called a dunkel.

Therefore, someone who likes porters (darker, heavier, ales) might prefer a dunkel over any variety of India Pale Ale. Whereas someone who prefers a pilsener (lager) might prefer a witbier (Belgian Wheat ale) over a Scotch Ale. The moral of the story? Ales vs Lagers is a useless comparison.

Someone really ought to start exporting XXXX and VB in number.

One of my favorite games at Australian bars is to order a "Quatros Equis" and see if I get two of these (http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_tbCqVl2yqf8/SnSHoAjZ0ZI/AAAAAAAAA5E/B1j6EATAEjU/s400/dos_equis_ambar_large.jpg) or one of these (http://media.beeroverip.org/beers/xxxx.jpg). I do love wedding dresses and white. That is confirmed.
I am female.
I am thin, seeing as I have less than 25% body fat, I'm 5'10.5, and I'm a size x-s as American Apparel, a size 5 in jeans, and I have a 33A-25-35 set of measurements.

Hoodies are nice. Very all-purpose—good for wearing around, good for sleeping in if where you're sleeping happens to be 16ºC, good for warming up and cooling down in at track/cross country meets.

I've also got a corduroy jacket that I like. But maybe it's just because I'm vain and I think I look quite dashing in it. :smallwink:

I'm not a fan of any sort of vest—sweatervest, fancy waistcoat type vest, regular vest, lifevest. Sweatervests are just unacceptable for people under 70, fancy waistcoat type vests aren't really my style, I just don't like regular vests, and lifevests make it harder to swim. :smalltongue:

Daisho Con is hosting a swim suit contest, because the hotel we host in has a really nice pool/park area in it (and its indoors so I won't die in Wisco' in November).

Of course. Because even if it can't eat the fish, it can still drink fish-flavored water... (My cats do this. It's their favorite drink, except when they can get the juice off of canned tuna or salmon...)

It does appear to be a rather large cat, but a lot of that is from it stretching out for it to examine the fish tank...

http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs51/f/2009/314/f/6/Desktop_v_1___Porch_Top_by_300pockets.png

I'm already bored with it. But the drop down menu is super cool actually.

From the maker, showing said drop down:

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs31/i/2008/227/4/3/Innocence_Release___Updated_by_zaif06.jpg

I'm going to keep Innocence, but maybe add a new log in screen, firefly (the bug, not the show) icons, and a background that makes it look like I'm looking out from a porch. I can't find the icons or the wallpaper though.

Careful now, don't let Jibar see you with that window open. ;)

And I just realized that I left it way open, so I'm going to now blur the names out in PhotoShop.

Your page stretchiness has nothing on mine.
Seriously, unless you're running your browser over two 1080p screens, this will stretch.

Pyrian: The 'bad fairies' costume was the one where you mentioned, about a month ago, leaving the scale-making until the last minute? Just a guess. Extra work put into the smaller scales paid off though, because paired with the chainmail, that's the best-looking variation yet.

As I said on msn to you, Rabs, feels odd that you're legally too young to drink while I'm currently drinking some mead.

Also, mead>wine, generally.

Though wine is far easier to get.

The lipgloss is there because I was expecting to see the boyfriend today.
Unfortunately, no such luck.
I'm stuck at home playing with my lightsaber.

I need a scroll of "Smite Dirty Thoughts" here...

I've got one of those more expensive 'sabers as well, but it's at home and I'm a couple hundred miles away from it...

My brothers and I had fourteen - no exaggeration; we counted once - Wal-Mart lightsabers, ranging from the $2 white ones of the mid '90s to the $30 light-ups. We'd dress up in our Jedi robes (our grandmother, who's good with the sewing machine, made each of us an awesomesauce robe), put towels over the windows of our playroom, switch the lights off, and have an EPIC lightsaber battle.

I had a double-bladed (Darth Maul) one but I was so vicious with it that no one would battle me, as I always won. This was such a disappointment that I tried to fight with the wall instead.

The wall won. The lightsaber died. :smallamused:

Now my youngest brother has to have acquired at least six more, since the majority of our old ones are long gone. You can NEVER have too many lightsabers.

It's... it's not even really much to be confused with a bathrobe or evening gown, so there's no real inappropriate context to it. I mean, it's not like you're going, "Here's Tink in my bed, if you know what I mean :smallwink::smallwink::smallwink:"

So yeah. I r confuzled.:smallconfused:
