So, my thread on persistent spells got me thinking. What spells are out there that last all day WITHOUT metamagic hijinx? I tried searching for a list of spells with a duration of 1 hour/level or more, but to no avail. Help me, playground, to make a list of long-duration spells! I'm thinking for a wizard/cleric, but any others are welcome. So far, I have:

Energy Immunity
Moral Facade
Nondetection
Superior Resistance
Visions of the Future

What other goodies am I missing?

Any spell with a duration of 1 hour/caster level at level 16 keeps you covered during the hours of the day you are awake, at level 24 all day :smalltongue:

Do you want 1h/lvl buffs too as you implied?

In that case you might want to add in Mage armor and Luminous armor and their greater versions. Magic weapon, GMV and Magic vestment too. Undetectable alignment is a flat 24h spell. Dominate Monster deserves a mention too.

Tyche's touch is great. +4 Sacred bonus to a save, and it lasts 24 hours. It reduces by one every time you make a save, but it's only a second level spell slot anyway.

Heroes' Feast (well, it's 12 hours fixed duration, but Extended it lasts all day)

That's most from core (+ Greater Resistance to complete your Superior); annoyingly most of the Cleric-spells you really want on (Death Ward, Freedom of Movement, etc.) are 10 min/level and as such, require Extend and multiple castings to make last all day.

All that, and you didn't include Create Magic Tattoo? It's a reasonably useful selection of 24-hour buffs, of which you may have three at any one time. (At level 13+, this can include a +1 CL buff, which is always nice.) Get it for your Arcane Thesis and Extend Spell them for an inexpensive two-day buff.

A question about Create Magic Tattoo: would 3 +1 caster level tattoos stack? I don't think they would, but I thought I would check. Also, if I have a wizard/cleric, would one magic tattoo increase his caster level for both classes? Lastly, on an unrelated note, would multiple +1 CL ioun stones stack with each other?

Edit: Foryn, Visions of the Future is from PHB II.

It's not hours/level, which I was including. But yeah, it's obviously awesome. I forgot about it while writing the short list.

Zone of Silence (SRD) is Bard 4, but more accessibly Beguiler 3.
Wind Walk
Wind's Grace, from Magic of Eberron, is Druid 3 for 1 hour/level; creates a localized area of strong wind. Could be useful for ships, I guess.
Wind at Back, SpC 239, 12 hours, doubles overland speed only. A but obsoleted by teleportation, Druid 4
Unity Wine. Nice little quirky thing in Player's Guide to Eberron. Page 73. 4 creatures get +1 morale to skills for 1 hour/level.
