Move 70 feet closer

I attack the barrier with arrows.

[roll0] [roll1] + [roll2] skirmish
[roll3] [roll4] + [roll5] skirmish
[roll6] [roll7] + [roll8] skirmish
[roll9] [roll10] + [roll11] skirmish

[roll12]

Added: Depending on what methods you have available for sight, you may need to roll that spot check. I am still quite far from you.

Added #2: Actually, with your Spot modifier, you know where I am; 125 ft straight ahead of you.

I should also add ... the arrows are serpentstongue arrows, so they deal both piercing and slashing damage. If the barrier has hardness, they ignore up to 5 points thereof.

The barrier is destroyed and as the kobold looks around and instantly sees you. Suddenly your surrounded by amorphous mist and as it saps away your vitality you are attacked from an unknown source.

Visibility is 5ft so these attacks are as invisible (+2atk and vs flat footed)
Atk [roll0] Dmg [roll1]
Atk [roll2] Dmg [roll3]
Atk [roll4] Dmg [roll5]

If 2 hit Auto Dmg [roll6]
6 Dmg from thick mist

47pp used
manifest control sound linked Temporal Acceleration with serge crystal (13pp)

Temporal rounds 1-3
regain focus
manifest control sound linked astral construct with serge crystal (13pp)
manifest Ectoplasmic Shambler (100ft area centered on human) (9pp)
command it to dive attack him & move into ground.

You are surprised to notice that the attacks did not strike as hard as you had hoped. The human is able to evade some of the blows you were sure would have struck.

Only the 3rd attack hits (Uncanny Dodge, Flatfooted AC 42 after moving 40 ft) 48 hp + 6 from mist = 54 hp
I am now down to 94 hp left.

Although noticably hurt, the human still stands and lunges towards you!

Fly 55 feet closer, 70 feet away

Full Ranged Attack (longbow, 20 crit threat)
[roll0] [roll1] + [roll2] skirmish
[roll3] [roll4] + [roll5] skirmish
[roll6] [roll7] + [roll8] skirmish
[roll9] [roll10] + [roll11] skirmish

Forgot to add:
[roll0]

Edit: Not like that mattered ... I am now 70 feet away from you, longbow in hand.

Okay I just need you to know you move at half speed and cannot see me unless you have some form of special sight. Its all due to visibility of 5ft.

Okay I just need you to know you move at half speed and cannot see me unless you have some form of special sight. Its all due to visibility of 5ft.

How big is the area? I flew 55 feet.

If that puts me outside the mist, no penalties. Otherwise, you have total concealment against my attacks.

Dreamwisp
2009-10-08, 09:34 PM
the area is 100ft and it was centered on you. so you would move 25ft.

Edit: any thing else I missed?

GalaGalaxia
2009-10-08, 09:38 PM
Make that 30 feet then (half of 60 which is my max movement)
Wouldn't waste that movement if I could avoid it.

So, that puts me 95 feet from you, and you have total concealment against my attacks, so they would all have missed.

Your turn

Edit: Granted, unless you have a way to see through concealment 95 feet away, I have total concealment against you.

As you move though the mist it continues to sap your vitality and something more tries to claim your life. As you stop moving you are yet again assaulted by unseen forces.

AoO for move Atk [roll0] Dmg [roll1]

Atk [roll2] Dmg [roll3]
Atk [roll4] Dmg [roll5]
Atk [roll6] Dmg [roll7]

If 2 hit (including aoo) Auto Dmg [roll8]
6 Dmg from thick mist.

Command it to dive again/continuously if not clarified before.

Ouch! Nice rolls there. I find myself dead :smallfrown:

I could've avoided the AoO by tumbling at full speed ... my fault.
But, those other three attacks still hit, which is more than I can handle.

Looking at the spoilers, by the way ... Your initial Wall of Ectoplasm would either have failed or it could not have been placed around you.

If its surface is interrupted by any object or creature, the power fails.

Since you are standing next to a wall, the 12ft sphere (centered on you) would have been interrupted by the wall.

Note to self: I need to win initiative, but not act first :smallwink:

Just say it was a hemisphere then.

You have good ac that's for sure. I used my Astral Construct to fight while I just chilled in solid matter. I will be able to summon 3 at once in just a few battles if I get to play.

Edit: I'm surprised you didn't charge at me like crazy and I did bet on you attacking to reveal yourself/get you close to me.

GalaGalaxia

AC and mobility is what my character is all about. If he can get to you, there is going to be a lot of hurt!

Edit: I'm surprised you didn't charge at me like crazy.

Yeah, if I just could've reached you.

GalaGalaxia

I really should have relied on stealth until I was within one full move of you.

Then I could have gotten in and whacked 15 times

How would you do that if they are hiding is solid matter, without some sort of quickened disintegrate effect? I still don't know of a good way to fight living incorporeal creatures, good thing there are so very few.

Edit: That and swarms! Teamwork is the best answer I got so far.

GalaGalaxia

You were hiding in solid matter?

Dreamwisp
2009-10-08, 10:21 PM
My first round, last thing I did. I sacrificed a lot to be incorporeal so I definitely want to take advantage of it.

GalaGalaxia

I must have missed that.

I don't understand - doesn't leaving the area of the fight usually constitute a loss? Otherwise, I could just summon a bunch of creatures and then teleport away. Also, is there some kind of metamagic effect being put on the Ectoplasmic Shambler to give it the power to halve movement and increase its size from 10 cubes to a 100' radius?
