When living in the path of the sword, death is invertible, and will come sooner or later.
While many die before true glory, and others find peace in the afterlife, many others return to life by powerful magics of light or infernal aid.
The wayד of returning may be many, but so are the effects of the trip. while many remain the same as they were, a few change an unbelievable change, turning into something. not quite as they were, some even say they have become almost another species, gaining power from sources others have never considered.
The truth gained by these souls is that the very essence of their live, the blood in their veins, is quite a potent weapon. a powerful shield, and perhaps that third tool of the trade to accompany these two that they always searched for.
Such swordsmen are Blood Blades: formally deceased warriors who, when returned to life, gain an understanding of their blood's importance, bequeathed by their close call. they learn to use this vital fluid that sustains their lives as a potent addition to their combat skills, effectively saving themselves from another death by killing themselves slower.
A blood blade is not trained, he simply discovers new powers that he always had, yet was never aware of.
Due to the hard requirement an NPC Blood Blades are rare, and unlikely to be encountered, and if so will not be in groups, the requirements are rare enough, and only few who fits turn into one.

Blade of Blood (Su)
A Blood Blade learns how to use his blood to enchant his attacks, by paying 1 hit point he may deal an additional 1d6 blood damage on a melee attack.
At third level he may pay 3 hit points to deal 2d6 additional damage.
At fifth level he may pay 6 hit points to deal 3d6 additional damage.
At seventh level he may pay 10 hit points to deal 4d6 additional damage.
At third level he may pay 15 hit points to deal 5d6 additional damage.
The use of this ability must be declared before the attack roll is made.
A Blood Blade can use the Blade of Blood ability of lower power of his maximum skill if he so desires.

Acidic Blood (Ex)
A second level Blood Blade is changed permanently, and his blood turns more acidic then normal.
While this does not effect the Blood Blade, whenever the Blood Blade is struck by a slashing or piercing attack, all creatures within 5 ft. take 1d4 points of acid damage.

Bloodlust (Ex)
At fourth level a Blood Blade becomes one with his own blood, and is enraged by it's loss.
Whenever a Blood Blade of forth level drops below 75% of his maximum hit points he gain a +4 bonus to strength.

Blood Drikner (Ex)
The sixth level Blood Blade revels in the blood of his opponents, and whenever he strikes a creature in melee with a slashing or piercing weapon he gains 1 hit point for every 10 points of damage he has dealt.

Greater Bloodlust (Ex)
Whenever a Blood Blade of eight level drops below 50% hit points he becomes truly frenzied, and he is hasted as long he is injured so.

Blood Blast (Su)
As a full round action, a tenth level blood blade may pay any amount of hit points as his own blood is extracted from his body and floats around him.
As he finished extracting blood in the desired amount, it explodes and shreds all around him, dealing 1d4 blood damage for every 4 hit points spend, to a distance equal to 5 ft. for every 5 hit points spend to every creature withing range.
In addition, creatures struck by the blast must make a will save (DC 15+1 per every 6 hit points spend) or become nauseated for 1 round per every 8 points spend.
You may spend no more then half your current hit points when using this ability.

Yes, I'm aware the last ability sounds a bit complex, but it really isn't if you think about it, just decide a number deliverable by 4 of HP to pay, call it X. the distance is X, rounded down to the nearest 5. save is 15+(X/6), rounded down. and duration is X/8, rounded down.

Maybe have a cap on the amount of blood you can shed during the last ability? Not below half your hp, not below 3/4, etc...

Otherwise it looks awesome. Very original and the fluff was a great read

Yea, good idea.

Set it to "no more then half your current hit points", effectively letting you going into greater bloodlust quite quickly if you want to.

I still love the careful tactical balance required here.
You WANT to drop below 50% hp, yet you DON'T want it to drop all the way.

So... no synergy with the spell of the same name whatsoever?

You put it next to the identity matrix and reduce.
