Get to the gate, so we see some sort of battle before 700 and it climaxes at 700

OR:
They end up going to a castle, battle between linear guild OR Lord Tyrinar, Haley's dad ends up getting rescued at some point.

What do YOU think will happen in between 685-700?

I predict we switch focus to either Team Evil or to the Linear Guild. In fact I expect to see one of them within the next five strips, and the other around strip 700.

Either he skips it entirely (making the "it's nothing special joke" again would be lame) or he does something special like a dramatical plot event, which would seem logical as we're leading towards something, like the re-introduction of the Linear Guild or something like that.

Absolutely nothing will happen that will make people go "Oh, it's obvious mr. Burlew choose to let this happen in this strip since it's so special like the nicely even number 700."

That strip was the single transition between two arcs, between Roy in Celestia and the split parties. I agree that it wasn't terribly significant, but it stands out a little more than the ones on either side.

In strip 629, however, we are shown many black dragons, with a great variety in wing and eye colour.

Some do have the same combo as Mama Dragon, but not all that many.

The Order finally reach the Gate. It turns out that Vin Diesel and Chuck Norris have total control of it. The two agree to make an alliance with the Order, on the condition that Roy dances with Randy Jackson in the pale moonlight on top of a Kobold Pie with the song "American Pie" being sang by Vaarsuvius. Suddenly Elan turns out to be Kyle Brovloski in disguise, who subsequently rapes Belkar and demands that he reads The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

Unbeknownst to them, Belkar has power over cheese and sprays them all with molten gouda. Suddenly Altair comes out of the shadows, kills Haley, and then kidnaps Kyle and runs into the gate. Chuck Norris then has an epic battle with O-Chul/Himself, who was bored after killing the Snarl. They fight for Centuries, finally settling that they were an equal match, and decided to stop fighting before they destroyed the world. They looked around, and it turned out they already did. So they brought everything back to normal.

Subsequently Roy jumps into the Gate to save Kyle/Elan from Altair, The Grinch, and Monty Python. When he jumped in, it turned out that the gate was actually a gateway into other worlds. Then, he meets Phillip J. Fry, John Conner, Bill and Ted, and Megaman. They agree that they have to stop Altair, who just jump into a portal into the Dr.Seuss Universe.

After a chase scene, they battle Altair in Polka Dotted Tu-tus. John Conner dies from a Lazor that Altair blasted. Megaman turns into Mega-Hulk and kills Altair. Unfortunately, Kyle, who turns out to be Elan all along, is fatally injured. In his dying moments, he tells the group that he raped Belkar because that was the only way to save him from his prophecy. Because of this, someone else had to be killed at random, and Haley was. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a giant sperm whale falls out of the sky and kills them all. The End.
