So, my computer gives me this little status pop-up.

"Error #736 Your computer and the central computer disagree on PPP protocols" or something like that.

In and of itself, its nothing, I'm on dial-up, and there are always little quirks. What concerns me is that there are at least 736 errors that Microsoft has thought of beforehand.

What accounts does the Playground have of errors? What is error #001?

And I thought 404 was bad. 736? Who knows what other multitudes of errors are lurking?

Yeah, It's kind of unnerving, eh?

The long description for Error 200 is "Action completed successfully".

It's quite telling of Microsoft's design philosophy when things going as they should is counted as an Error. :smalltongue:

Heh, there's always an error code returned. Something has to mean "No error". 201 actually means "Success following a POST command" so there are multiple non-error errors.

These are standard internet codes though, not Windows specific. Here's the list of Windows error codes: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms681381(VS.85).aspx

Only 15,999 of them.

For almost a week in my Web Design class last year, one of the computers couldn't launch Dreamweaver because it would continually pop up a dialogue saying "No error occurred," despite the fact that this was clearly not the case :smalltongue:.

Error_1: Turned on Windows.

But that's more of a philosophical error, more like, "error on you".

I have gotten the "task completed successfully" error.
I'm beginning to think that Gates gave up and now ANYTHING Windows does, is an accident.

In my programming class, my professor mentioned that most modern operating systems could run more than one program at a time. I said "except windows." Nobody laughed. :smallannoyed:
