I guess I'll buy a pair of Arcanists' Gloves; tough call between those and a new bow, but win or lose I should be able to get the bow after the finals.

I pondered one of those too, Sallera made them seem quite interesting. Might snag one for one of my barbarians, they have cash to burn. That's the good thing about a melee character, once you have them a decent weapon and armor, they're pretty much set.

Well, work's cut out for me with needing two wins to take the round, but I've done it before. Although it would be interesting to fight in another level 1 round with money and better equipment already in hand; I haven't had that experience yet, all my other guys won the first round they were in. Would give Solus an advantage once he actually reached level 2.

Round 1

Start in Y-13 (for real this time), with bow and a bottle in hand. I then move north, breaking LoS as I enter Y-12, and ending my turn in Z-10. Gigz, don't be looking in this one, even if you get LoS: I then use the bottle of Drow Poison on a masterwork arrow, and dispose of the empty container, and promptly shift my bow to both hands.

Yrik expends his chronocharm to move an additional 25 feet before moving to N7 and readying an action:
Yrik will move if his opponent readies an action, casts a spell within 50 feet of him, moves more than 30 feet, or attempts to attack him.

Ready action: to fire poison-coated masterwork arrow if opponent enters my line of effect without cover.

Yrik will froth at the mouth in a rage, then move to W5/X6 drawing his Greatsword before attempting to crush the life out of his opponent. Going to assume THIS triggers your readied action, but in case I make the will save I'll roll my attack.

Shame I didn't have a nice Color Spray ready, or the fight would be over. Actually, you'll need to go ahead and roll a Fort Save, if this attack hits.

Drow. So you'll be unconscious if you fail the roll. Not sure if you did or didn't now; by my count, you had a +4 normally, and +2 for your enhanced Con through the rage. But that only makes 12.

I gain an extra +2 Con from the Reckless Rage, bringing the total bonus up to +7. Drow huh? Might have to look that up for another character concept....

Yeah, it's good stuff, cheapest poison that's worth anything. I bought it for the fight against Schism's Fell Drain Magic Missile guy, but he DQ'ed, so it sat dormant. And if that Reckless Rage stacks with the Mountain Rage, why do you only get +3 to melee attacks while raging? Shouldn't it be +4 (since it's +8 Strength overall?)

Ah. Well, that would be game, then. Nothing to really lawyer this time out, all pretty cut and dry. Certainly you're glad you have your Reckless Rage now; it literally was the difference between life and death. Although you still could have won the round even if you lost here, of course. And I'd say you avenged Yrik's demise at the hands of my other guy fairly well.

I also forgot to roll the 5% chance of poisoning myself, for that matter. Really would have sucked to lose it on that.
