This is a free-for-all between the fathers of the main characters from anime/games/etc.

Contestants include:
Hohenheim Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist)
Kiritsugu Emiya (Fate/stay night)
Isshin Kurosaki (Bleach)
Minato Namikaze (Naruto)
Nagi Springfield (Mahou Sensei Negima)
Anakin Skywalker (Star Wars)

Assuming a neutral battleground, who would win?

I vote for Desire of the Endless, as Rose Walker's grandfather, for the role. If you really insist, her mother is the hero I'm talking about, but I don't remember her name and to check in the book would require that I walk.
But also Dream of the Endless, as Orpheus is his son and Orpheus is a hero. Daniel's also his son.

"Kiritsugu Emiya
Isshin Kurosaki
Minato Namikaze
Nagi Springfield"

Could I get a rundown on who the hell these are? Rather, from which sources? Also, direct combat or more of "get rid of these people"-type? 'cause auxillary resources matter far less in direct combat than in Mafia Boss-style fight.

Of those listed so far, I think Kurosaki Isshin wins simply because A) none of the others can see him. B) if he's at all like the other captain classes we see he can hit them with a city leveling attack while they can't see him. C) even if A and B aren't the case, they can't actually hurt him without a zanpakutou or hollow. Unless we're allowing system transparency, of course, in which case I have no idea. No. Idea.

I'd go with Isshin too. Not only he seems to be one of the strongest Shinigami, but he seems to be an ordinary human and a harmless doofus, and he's not below using that to his advantage.

However, I vote for him only because Chiyo-Chichi is not on the list.

Isshin Kurosaki: Bleach, apparently
Kiritsugu Emiya: Fate/Stay Night (a sorcerer, Shirou's adoptive father)
Minato Namikaze: Naruto (the Fourth Hokage)
Nagi Springfield: Mahou Sensei Negima (Negi's father, the "Thousand Master")

Nagi and Minato are both capable of beating the snot out of people with magic-enhanced attacks and further using ranged magical attacks. Emiya too, AFAIK.

However, I vote for him only because Chiyo-Chichi is not on the list.

Agreement.

And I think I'd have to go for Isshin too, I don't know a thing about the series but based on the descriptions given I don't see the others being able to do much to him.

He is implied to be an ex-captain, but that's it.

Minato has the Reaper Death Seal so he could probably kill Isshin, though he would die in the process. Likewise Hohenheim has soul-related powers, though I'm not sure how exactly those work.

Nagi Springfield is a real heavyweight here, but Kiritsugu specialises in assassinating mages, so he might be able to win.

Well, I would nominate Shiro Takamachi (by virtue of being a freaking ninja and the man responsible for raising the baddest-ass nine-year-old ever), but he's kind of crippled. Or dead.

You know, Big Boss and Ingram Pliskin both have a buttload of clones. Do they count?

All this and no Dan McNinja or Klaus Wolfenbach?

I honestly expected better from the playground.

Either one of them could do some serious injury to any other parties involved in this little shindig.

That's because it would end up with Wulfenbach treating them like misbehaving little children. He doesn't enjoy it, but he can do it all day if he has to. And it looks like he would have to. :smalltongue:

How about John Egberts unnamed father. Give him some shaving cream and Baked Goods, he could do significant damage.

Also, if we include Klaus, we should include Bill Heterodyne.

Dotesmite he may do, but can his head light on fire, for NO REASON? Can he fire laser blasts from his eyes, pull a long sword from his gullet, cut an elevator cable in half with a briefcase and plow through a cubicles while leaving a trail of silhouettes in his path? Is his tongue prehensile?
Is he Dad?
No, no I did not think so.

Acts of an unfocused miscreant interested in nothing but whatever wild prank catches his fancy. Father, on the other hand, is a mean, focused, properly shaved engine of affection! Dad would be utterly humiliated by Father's attempts to show love and favor.

But Dad. Rocks. Hard.
This isn't who is the best at fatherdom, but who would WIN.
And Dad is universally composed of that most vaunted substance in its unalloyed, unadulterated and uninhibited form.
This is true, the Internet told me so.
In case you haven't guessed, I am being silly. Don't take this seriously. I do think Dad is made of Win though.

Okay, I'm going to plug Grandfather. The fellow so powerful that his his children and grandchildren (less than 300 all together) built marvels that convinced the universe for millennia that a mighty precursor empire had existed rather than a bunch of geeks tooling around doing interesting things. The fellow so powerful that he managed to kill of everyone else in the group (in a war that rent planets and annihilated stars) and created his own pocket universe by force of will. The one who is capable of burning out every consciousness that shares a solar system with him without needing a metaconcert (don't ask what he can do WITH one. It's scary).

And I'm designating the son who created humans as a side project to be the hero here.

But can he pull a KNIFE EYE ATTACK?

Oh.
Oh.
Do adopted dads and/or granddads count?

If so, BILL DOOR might have a good chance.

On the other hand, he nears main character status rather than mere dad of a major character. It applies to Leonidas more, but it is a factor in nomination.

Yeah, I guess this is quite a comprehensive list of fathers that are willing to kick butt. 'Course, they all are humbled under the rock of Taizo Hori. Those of you out of the loop might know him as Dig-Dug.

But if we allow the Super Drunk from Bubble Bobble, all bets are off.
