Maybe I'm being an idiot, but how do you work out the CR of a dragon with class levels? For dragons with LA, I know you just add that to the number of levels, but once you get past around young/juvenile, they lose that value. Is there a formula, or am I supposed to eyeball it?

Here you go. (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/improvingMonsters.htm#advancedMonsterChallengeRati ng) Since Dragon's have the 'Awesome' Subtype just about everything's associated with them.

Thank you very much. I couldn't find that page at all for some reason, which is a bit daft of me.

It's worth noting that non-Sorcerer casters aren't... :smalltongue:

This is wrong. LA has nothing to do with CRs ... ever.

Dragon are exactly the same as every other monster, the class levels don't increase their age category any more than class levels increase size categories for monsters which can increase in size. Only Racial Hit Die progress a monster in that way, dragon or otherwise.

All that matters is if the class levels are associated or non associated.
