In a time long forgotten lived a powerful warrior by the name of Karl Regin. Karl lead a bloody campaign across all the continents of the world, laying waste to everything in his path for the simple reason of testing his power and experiencing the thrill of battle. Nations crumbled and civilizations vanished in his wake, but still he craved for more. Not satisfied with the blood of mortals he declared war on the gods themselves, and entered their domain to continue his conquest.
But Karl was not a fool. He knew he had the gods' attention, and that they would be watching him carefully and bring their infinite power against him the instant he entered their realm. Using a number of dark magics he was able to shatter his very being and bind fragments of it to various items, which he scattered across the planet. By doing this he was able to disrupt the gods' divine sight, as they would be unable to determine his current location and actions. Thus protected he began his unholy campaign, and many gods were lost forever.
It was Wee Jas who eventually learned why the gods could not track Karl. She promptly dispatched her followers to find his relics and locked them away on a demiplane where they could not longer interfere with the gods' powers. Karl, unaware that his plan had been discovered, was soon ambushed and slain by the combined might of the remaining gods.
With Karl defeated, his relics were soon forgotten and his name faded with time. Soon he was simply known in myth as The Godslayer, and the items his shattered being were bound to were never found...
