I don't if this is old, but I've never really heard about it.

It only requires 2 things, the Spell Rehearsal feat(RoD) and a lot of (in-game) time.

The trick is really simple with the "Persistence" effect of the feat, the DC of a spell increases by 1 everytime you cast the same spell twice or more in a row.

There is absolutely no duration to the effect, so you can cast a spell days apart without any problem, as long as you don't use any other standard action.

Note: This also work on CL checks to defeat SR and to attack rolls required in spells.

The only action you can take between each casting is a single move action, and next round you must immediately cast the spell again (otherwise it's not in sucession). So, sorry, it doesn't work.

Also preparing spells would most definitely be an action. So the only way of pulling this of would be if it applied to spell-like abilities at which point the warlock could have fun with it. IF it requires consecutive rounds you then would need a warlock who does not need to eat drink or sleep. But hey then you could have a 95% garuntee that mediocre abilities would effect opponents.

Well, per RAW:

In all other ways, a spell-like ability functions just like a spell:(Here (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/specialAbilities.htm#spellLikeAbilities), end of the third paragraph) - and interaction with feats is not one of the things called out as being different about spell-like abilities.

Also, and a 95% chance on being Nauseated for 1 minute by a Noxious Blast, and taking a small amount of damage, for all enemies in an Eldritch Cone? Not exactly mediocre.

warlock only has a couple of Save or X abilities.
Other than eldritch essenses, which are Touch attacks, Do damage, then save or X.

Only decent one that comes to mindis Slumber of the Ages (Or what ever it's called) - the High lvl version of Sleep

How bout just using reserve spells? Cast a bunch in the morning as part of your usual prep, since hey, you don't care. A coupla wasted minutes ensures nobody has a hope of saving against this.

No. The effect ends as soon as you do anything other than take a move action then cast. :smallsigh:

Warlock with Ring of Sustenance? Fatigue would play havoc with his aim after the 1st month or so though.

I believe there's some Eberron PrC for Warlocks that lets you convert your Eldritch Blast into Inflict Light Wound spells (not SLAs). However, that would still be rather unimpressive ("Fear my 1d8+5 damage, which you have no hope of resisting!").

If you rule that it works with SLAs, it's better, especially as it seems you don't actually have to use the spell every round - just that you can only take one move action and no standard actions between castings. So stand in one spot and charge up, then have your minions carry you around if you want to move without blasting things. I'm still not convinced it would even work with SLAs though.

{table]http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | HRAH! HRAH! HRAH! (Slams his hands into the walls while making arcane gestures with his fingers as a black vitriol oozes out the tips.)
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | ...Morthos, what are you doing to that wall?
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | What does it look like I'm doing? (continuing to ram the wall as he speaks.)
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | Well it looks like you've managed to find a way to molest walls, in addition to the law enforcement issues we already have.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | No one really cares that we can't go back to Elemental Plane of Belts, Gimble.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | What about Hennet?
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Hennet.png | (in corner, sobbing) Just one more belt... just one more belt, man. Just one more...
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | No one who's a person cares. Besides, we have more important things to worry about, like the upcoming battle with the evil king. He and his peons will be here any moment.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | Right, about that. I know you're not limited by daily-usage abilities, but what are you doing to that wall?
http://psworkshop.net/psworkshop/UserImages/jjokerg/66preview.jpg | (if I only had a mouth, I would scream.)
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | Powering up by blasting this wall with a low-intensity attack, one brick at a time.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | 'Powering up?'
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | Like in those stories Ember's always telling about that one monk who did lots of screaming and collateral damage and then suddenly got woosh, way more powerful. I think it's really working for me.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | ...Ah... Morthos? We need to have a little talk about your grasp of reality.
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Morthos.png | It's tighter than Hennet's. HRAH! HYAH! HAAAH!
http://i701.photobucket.com/albums/ww11/Eoclastia/Gimble.png | ...My possible responses here are myriad; perhaps, 'yes, I'm sure it is' or 'that's what worries me,' or 'have you seen his pecs lately?' [/table]

...Sorry, first thing that came to mind for someone who would try to actually use that in game.
