Red-Handed Looting Method
Cost: 6m
Mins: Larceny 4, Essence 3
Type: Simple
Keywords: Avatar (2), Combo-OK, Obvious
Duration: Instant
Prerequisite Charms: Reality-Subverting Gesture

To lose one’s treasures is to slip closer to Oblivion, to be freed of the fetters that tie one to Creation–and what treasure is more precious than one’s life? With the dark puissance of this Charm, a Deathknight can steal the flesh and blood of their foes with a portentous gesture, drawing out bloody gobbets of gore. The Abyssal rolls (Dexterity + Larceny) to make an ranged attack against any living foe within (Whispers x 20) yards, adding automatic successes equal to their Whispers rating. The attack is unblockable, but can be dodged normally. If it hits, the victim suffers (Essence + Larceny+Whispers)L damage, plus an from additional successes, which ignore soak from armor. If the attack deals any damage, filthy bloody offal fills the Abyssal’s hands, drawn out of their victim’s flesh.

A second purchase at Essence 4 furthers the dark potency of the Abyssal even further. Whenever they would successfully inflict at least two levels of lethal damage on a foe with this Charm, they must instead spend a point of temporary Willpower to inflict a crippling effect. Rather than simply drawing out blood or flesh, they can steal a victim’s limbs, eyes, or other organs suitable for crippling–the crippled body part dissipates in a burst of blood and black essence, and reappears in the Deathknight’s hand. Against an Extra, the Abyssal may inflict this effect for no added cost, and may choose to steal his victim’s heart, brains, or other vital organs, killing them instantly.

Black Treasures Misappropriated
Cost: –
Mins: Larceny 5, Essence 4
Type: Permanent
Keywords: Avatar (3)
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Red-Handed Looting Method (x2)

When Oblivion has taken all it can from you, the last treasure it will claim is your soul. With this rightfully dreaded power, the Abyssals can steal everything from those who defy them. This Charm permanently enhances the Abyssal’s Red-Handed Looting Method. Whenever they kill a living character with it, they steal that character’s very soul. It manifests within their hand as a writhing shade of dead essence, which they may choose to release, should they be merciful–or else they may clench the soul within their fist, compressing it into a sharp-edged ingot of soulsteel. Soulsteel artifacts require a single soul for every 10 accumulated successes required for their design, rounded up.

Dead-Eyed Doppelganger Mien
Cost: – (2m per specialty)
Mins: Larceny 4, Essence 2
Type: Permanent
Keywords: Mirror (Becoming the Master Subterfuge (http://wiki.white-wolf.com/exalted/index.php?title=Charms:Becoming-the-Master_Subterfuge))
Duration: Permanent
Prerequisite Charms: Face-Drinking Bite

A stolen face is worth little unless backed with stolen power. This Charm permanently enhances the Abyssal’s Face-Drinking Bite. Whenever they use it to steal a character’s appearance, they become aware of all Ability specialties possessed by the character and may copy any three of them, committing 2 motes for each specialty duplicated. The bonus dice from these specialties are still limited by the normal maximum of +3, and they count as bonus dice from Charms. The stolen specialties last for as long as the Abyssal keeps the motes committed to Face-Drinking Bite. If the Abyssal uses False Heart Mien to memorize a disguise, he also memorizes any specialties stolen as part of that disguise, although he must still commit additional motes normally to access them.

Living Eyes Cannot Know
Cost: 2m
Mins: Larceny 4, Essence 2
Type: Simple
Keywords: Illusion
Duration: Indefinite
Prerequisite Charms: Face-Drinking Bite

When the living look on the dread armies of death the Abyssal Exalted raise up, they are made blind by sheer terror. Laying hands upon a ghost, zombie, or other undead character, the Abyssal veils it with a disguise of essence. Any living character that looks upon a disguised undead is incapable of perceiving its true undead nature unless they spend three Willpower to pierce the illusion. Once a character has spent Willpower to overcome this illusion, they automatically see the true nature of any other undead the Abyssal has disguised with this Charm for the rest of the scene. To those who do not spend Willpower, the cloaked undead seem like ordinary mortals, if taciturn and pallid. This Charm cannot disguise undead that are not essentially humanoid, such as necromantic war machines.

At Essence 3, the Abyssal may use this Charm to disguise mass units of the undead that he leads. He must commit 2 motes for each dot of magnitude the unit possesses, and must spend a point of temporary Willpower. Each additional day that he wishes to disguise the unit, he must reflexively spend another point of Willpower.

Duplicitous Shade Semblance
Cost: 5m, 1wp
Mins: Larceny 5, Essence 3
Type: Simple (Speed 3, DV -0)
Keywords: Combo-OK, Illusion, Mirror (False Scales Raiment (http://wiki.white-wolf.com/exalted/index.php?title=Charms:False_Scales_Raiment))
Duration: One scene
Prerequisite Charms: Face-Drinking Bite

The Deathknights cannot always walk freely arrayed in their full blasphemous glory, and must at times seem to be little more than lesser beings of death. This Charm masks the Abyssal as either a ghost or a ghost-blooded, at their choice. Their anima banner becomes imperceptible, masked beneath a layer of illusion, although its effects do not change. However, the deception cannot hide an Abyssal anima banner that reaches the totemic level–on peaking, the Deathknight’s anima blazes forth in its full blasphemy. Whenever the Deathknight uses an Abyssal Charm with the Obvious keyword, he may choose to have it appear as any similarly Obvious Arcanoi. This does not change the effects of the Abyssal’s Charms, merely the Obvious aspects of their appearance. If no Arcanoi exists that could reasonably pass as the Charm the Abyssal is using, or if the Deathknight does not know of such an Arcanoi, he must spend an additional mote of essence to disguise the Charm as a display of generic ghostly essence. Any character who witnesses the Deathknight’s totemic anima or sees an uncloaked Obvious Abyssal Charm may spend a point of Willpower to see through this illusion for the rest of the scene.
