I went to school in Poughkeepsie, very much your typical post-industrial American city, lots of beautiful dilapidated buildings and a completely dead downtown. There were large swaths of the city that you could not go after dark.

I'd never heard of this movie before and Wikipedia'd it, turns out it shares some similarities with an actual serial killer from Poughkeepsie who lived less than a city block from my school. Scary.
