You are 5th level crusader playing in a one-shot. You're going to be a bodyguard. You get 32-PB. Where do you put your abilities? What maneuvers do you choose?

Str, Con, and Cha would be best for the attributes, I should think.

In that order.

The Maneuvers, items, and PrCs sections aren't finished, but a majority of that handbook will help you. (http://brilliantgameologists.com/boards/index.php?topic=4227.0)

If a bodyguard is your aim, you might also find the Constant Guardian and Dutiful Gaurdian feats from Drow of the Underdark to be useful.

Short version - Pick and ally, you can swap places with them as an immediate action.

A Healing stance might be useful as a Bodyguard (in case employer gets hurt).
Crusader Strike (to heal him also).

We get 7 (5 1st, 1 2nd, 1 3rd or 4 1st, 2 2nd 1 3rd) maneuvers, 2 1st level stances.
Ideas:

Stances: Martial Spirit and Iron Guard Glare (-4 hit your ally).
Crusader's Strike: +1d6+ level healing
Either foehammer or mountain hammer (need to bypass hardness/DR eventually).
Shield block raises allly AC of we use a shield.
Stone Vise keeps target where to want him.
Defensive Rebuke forces enemy to attack you or be attacked, but then we can't take Revitalizing Strike to heal.

Maybe-
1st:
Crusader Strike
Stone Bones
Vanguard Strike
Douse the Flames

2nd:
Mountain Hammer
Stone vise or Shield Block

3rd:
Defensive rebuke or revitalizing strike or Bone Crusher or White Raven Tactics
