I can't figure out how spells that target creatures or objects interact with dead bodies. Are they still considered creatures, or are they now treated as objects? I swear I once knew the answer to this question, but it seems I can neither remember nor locate it in the SRD.

I believe (though I have no reference for it) that corpses are treated as objects. If an individual is in the negatives, however, they're still alive, and thus creatures.

They are objects. That's why you can get certain things permanenced on the dead and then raise them for added fun.

Non-intelligent objects always have Cha and Wis scores of --, and all subjects that have Cha and Wis of -- are objects.

Non-undead corpses always have Cha and Wis scores of -- (cuz they're dead).

You can do the math from there, I'm sure.

This is the closest any official RAW comes to saying that corpses are objects, but it's a fairly sure bet that they are.
