Question about banning

Simple question. If your banned, can you just not log in? Are you informed what mistake you made?

A banned poster trying to log in sees a brief explanation of the ban. Usually, it is "Accrued Infractions" but it could be one of the Instant Ban reasons. Also, as I understand it, the Forum software sends an email, if you have it set to email when you receive a new PM.
