Hallo! Just a quick question about the Shadow's Persistence ability. (Found Here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20060303a&page=6))

How would this ability interact if you counterspelled a Summon Monster (lets say 3) spell? Would further castings of the spell affect you? (that is monsters summoned by subsequent castings of Summon Monster 3 affect you?).

Well in the broader sense how that ability would interact with ANY spell that didn't allow spell resistance (such as earthquake, gate etc.)
I might be wrong but that ability isn't well defined. How far would you stretch this immunity?

Nah, I'm pretty sure the spell has to be used against you.

Summoned Monsters aren't used against you. The creature from the summon is.

Right. Summon monster is not cast upon you, so you cannot be immune to it.

The general precedent with immunity to various spells is that immunity only works against those spells that offer spell resistance. See a golem's spell immunity (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/resources/systems/pennpaper/dnd35/soveliorsage/monsterTypes.html#spell-immunity), or the spell spell immunity (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/resources/systems/pennpaper/dnd35/soveliorsage/spellsS.html#spell-immunity), for example.

In this instance, that doesn't quite work: you're immune to spells you successfully counter. Countering a summon monster IX would render you immune to being summoned by a summon monster IX, not from the resultant creature.
