Whenever the Infernal makes a social attack or exerts mental influence against a character that still owes the Infernal a service as a result of having a wish granted, he may spend two motes. If he does, the victim’s Dodge MDV is reduced to 0 against the attack or influence. In addition, such social attacks or influences are always treated as unnatural mental influence. Though they can still argue or deny the Infernal, they cannot merely ignore them. Once a character has been given a task by the Infernal and begins working towards it, he is no longer susceptible to the effects of this Charm–although if he breaks the terms of his duty, he becomes vulnerable once more, until he has suffered all the botches accorded to him as punishment. The Infernal is free to not ever ask for his favors to be returned, allowing him to exploit this Charm for as long as he wishes.

When used it to defend against mental influence or a Shaping attack used by a character of lower Permanent Essence, the mote cost to use the Charm is reduced by one for every dot her Permanent Essence exceeds theirs by. In addition, when used to defend against such effects used by characters with Essence 1, its cost becomes one mote.
A second purchase at Essence 4 enhances this Charm’s capacity for apathy even further. When invoking Counter-Pronouncement of Enthymemic Law to defend against a character of lower Essence, the Infernal may forgo the mote discount in order to extend its duration to one action. However, it only applies against mental influence or Shaping effects used by that one character.

This Charm permanently enhances the Infernal’s Verdant Emptiness Endowment Charm, allowing them to grant supplicants with the gift of true love. Whenever an Infernal observes a character express a desire or failure to obtain the affection of a character whom they possess an Intimacy for, she instantly becomes aware of that Intimacy. In addition, by invoking Verdant Emptiness Endowment, she may cause the object of the wisher’s Intimacy to develop an Intimacy towards the supplicant in the same emotional context, replacing any prior Intimacies. This is unnatural mental influence, and can be resisted for a cost of five Willpower. The magical Intimacy created by this Charm can be eroded normally, but the victim of it must spend a point of Willpower in every scene they spend eroding it.

Cecelyne’s law imprisons the lesser souls of the Yozis within Malfeas, for she is loathe to permit them the freedom that she is denied. But when a mortal cries out in desperation and despair, she might be persuaded to allow a demon egress, to show such men the mercy of Hell. This Charm permanently enhances the Infernal’s Verdant Emptiness Endowment Charm, allowing them to summon up demons to grant the wishes of mortal’s. Whenever an Infernal observes a character express a desire or failure to complete some task–whether it is “winning Yomiko’s love,” “conquering Lookshy once and for all,” or “be a real man”–they may invoke Verdant Emptiness Endowment to sorcerously call a demon of the first circle.
At the next sunset, the demon is summoned to the side of the wisher, sorcerously bound to complete whatever task they sought to achieve. The bound demon serves the mortal (though it pays no heed to any commands he might give) for a year and a day, after which he is drawn back to Malfeas. The Infernal may have a maximum of (Occult + Essence) demons summoned at any one time with this Charm–if he wishes to summon another, he must banish one of the previously conjured fiends as a reflexive action, which incidentally frees that wisher of his favor owed to the warlock. It is not given to this Charm to summon demons on behalf of the Infernal Exalted, be they Green Sun Princes or Akuma, or of other demons.
A second purchase at Essence 7 allows the Infernal to summon demon of the second circle with Ifrit-Binding Sorcerer’s Smile. Such demons appear on the next new moon, and serve their unwitting beneficiary for only a month. They must be summoned during Calibration, and appear instantly, serving until the end of that Calibration. They count as ten lesser demons.

When the world kneels before Cecelyne’s law, then its righteousness shall be fulfilled. This Charm permanently enhances the Infernal’s Sand-Scoured Society Infliction. Whenever she invokes it, she may spend an additional two Willpower to place a servitude effect on the social group, binding it to her service. The Infernal does not usurp leadership of the group, but the entire unit loyally serves her, gaining an Intimacy towards her that cannot be eroded until the duration of Sand-Scoured Society Infliction ends. In addition, they count as part of her Cult, even if they do not actively worship her. The servitude can be resisted at a cost of one point of Loyalty per day, although any splinter groups that break away as a result of Magnitude loss from this remain loyal to the Infernal. Characters with a Permanent Essence greater than 1 are not affected by this servitude, regardless of whether they belong to the group or not.
A second purchase at Essence 4 enhances Sand-Scoured Society Infliction even further, allowing it to be invoked as a sorcerous effect, so long as the group targeted consists entirely of Essence 1 characters. At Essence 6, it can be invoked sorcerously to bind groups with characters that have enlightened essence, although such characters are still not subject to the Servitude effect.
