So…random weird question.

As mentioned elsewhere, I’m planning on including Kythons in my campaign. I have no minis, and can’t find any, nor can I find old Aliens action figures.

So. Kython pictures. Besides the ones in BOVD. Where can I find ‘em? Haven’t had much luck just yet with google image search. Halp!

You could pass 40k nids off as Kythons

Exemplars of Evil has a pic of a kython- in the "Captain Gnash" (the bugbear pirate) section.

40K nids are a reasonable choice- especially given their biological weaponry.

Hormagaunt for the ones with spear-arms, Termagant for the basic ones, a single Ripper for the baby ones, Tyranid Warrior for the King, Ravener for the snake-tailed one.

or pictures of what inspired nids from 40k Aliens

Now I think this goes without saying but...Those links are safe for work.

The rest of deviant-art might not be. (its a crap shoot)
So take care if you decide to visit other sections of the site.

Ahem. Carry on...

Try this link (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/excerpts/ExemplarsEvil/ExemplarsEeevil43.zip)? I dunno if there's a pic or not.

Actually, it's kinda the other way around. Tyranids were the inspiration for the aliens in the Alien series.

I'm pretty sure the creatures from Aliens were inspired by H.R. Giger. Whether HE was inspired by Tyranids... ::off on a fact finding mission::

Edit: Giger's work on Alien design was done in 1980. Tyranids first appeared in Rogue Trader, in 1987.

nope- tyranids don't go back that far.

Not even Genestealers. Though they are close.

Never doubt my 40k knowledge.

I didn't mention HR Giger because his art has rather adult themes; which I thought might lead someone to a google search which would then get them promptly fired from their job (or grounded).
The scenario:
Google search > images > "HR Giger" > eyeballs scan
"Gee there's an alien let me take a look"
Click
"OH GOD!"
Entered my mind foremost.

(and his art did inspire the creatures from the alien series)

He actually worked on the series I believe. Or at least, he won an oscar for it.

Look for pictures of the man. He's almost as scary as his art!

But yeah! Thanks for the advice folks!
