Is this just a play on words or is there a Dune movie I haven't seen with Christopher Walken in it? If so I MUST see this movie.

Not a movie, sadly, but something equally awesome. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZbckwYY9r4)

I fully intend to learn this dance and perform it at hotels in my area.

Except for the flying-around part.

Lol, I knew he was trained as a dancer, but until today I just thought it was one of the man's very underutilised talents.

Oh my God, I'm so glad I now know what is the reference. :smalleek: This thing is super special awesome.

(Too bad I'm not fit enough to try this dance without killing myself :smalltongue: )

(Or maybe it's for the best. I'd embarass myself if I tried this kind of kickassness.)

While this is a very valid question, I think a better one might be: Why is there a Dune reference in a Fat Boy Slim song? Or am I just confused?

Just because. It's not like the the lyrics have any deep meaning to begin with.

That's not the reference The Giant is referring to.

Part Un: in Dune, if you're walking on the sand, you have to make sure your steps are NOT in rhythm otherwise the sandworms will detect the pattern and come eat you.

Part Deux: Christopher Walken is well known for his non-rhythmic style of delivering his lines.

A great example from Saturday Night Live (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXAxvnm_IuQ).

And this is a more likely reference than Walken being in an extremely well-known music video that includes the line "If you walk without rhythm, you won't attract the worm", the exact line Elan misheard?

I missed that line, but my post does explain why the Giant changed "walk" to "talk" and means you can get the joke without ever having seen the video or heard the song.

The Giant was simply referencing Fatboy Slim's music video whose lyrics reference Dune. The joke is on Elan's silliness, because although Christopher Walken is in the video, he is not the one saying the words, which Elan misquotes anyhow.

I always thought that the "Walk without rhythm, and it won't attract the worm"
was referred to the ladies, and that the "worm" is... you now... the "weapon of choice"...
