I'm trying to run Knights of the Old Republic that I just installed on my Vista, yet whenever I try to start the game, it crashes. When I try to find out what's wrong, it says that my computer has the wrong OS. I set it to XP, and even 2000, and yet nothing works. Can anybody help me?

Tryed to run it in Administrator mode? Sometimes this helps with old games.

Troubleshoot it and run it in compatibility mode is what he meant I believe. Also, even as administrator, things don't run automatically in administrator mode :P

That's what I did. And yes, I ran it in Administrator mode. And it still doesn't work.

Ive just upgraded to 7 and all the things that gave me trouble on vista don't anymore, haven't tried KoToR as i currently don't have it atm but lots of my older games that didn't work on vista now do

I forget how I got it work "work" on my computer, but the computer then proceeded to overheat and give me BSODs all the time. So I stopped playing KotoR. :(

I was able to run KOTOR out of the box on my vista pc. However, I was not able to run the patched version. After an uninstall and then a reinstall, the basic version worked.
