I'm looking for a reference image. Does anyone know of a character that wears a formal, buttoned shirt without a suit?

I think this (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0644.html) is the closest you get, but there are no shirt buttons in the entire comic, as far as I can tell.

Pretty sure Roy was wearing something like that when he had his date in Azure City with Celia:

Leastways, that's as close as you're going to get to a formal, buttoned shirt, I'd say--it's not exactly fantasy wear, is it?

It's the reason they're not going to blend there (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0032.html).

I went for that first, but it's total lack of buttons made me drop that line.

Apart from the Dave Arnesson comic, I've looked at the trial, the new years eve, the inn scene (the staff has got something that could be shirts) and Gary Gygax... and Cliffport.

That's why I thought there might me some.

Hmmmm... Looks like I'll have to pioneer OOTS buttons...
Alright... Who thinks i should do random spaces in between, and who thinks they should be even?

There's a character in a shirt and tie here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0350.html), but the buttons aren't visible.

You're probably better off just skipping the buttons. Just make a line and a collar and people will assume buttons.

Darn! I was gonna post that. Also, isn't that what Belkar wears?

Thog wears a similar style of shirt in this strip (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0388.html).

Here (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0611.html) there's pretty much everyone but the casters.

In this strip (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0606.html), a character is wearing what's definitely a shirt of a type that would almost certainly have buttons. But the buttons themselves are not shown. Such is life.

Banjo has buttons (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0080.html), but I tend to think they're purely decorative.
