Alarra: Its a thread we run 4 times a year (give or take) where us web comic artists trade some art with each other.

The Q: The 10 comic limit is in place. However, if you have other comics with >10 they count towards this whole thing.

Ichneumon, silverraptor, Squark and anyone else who was pondering: Despite being made of foam and latex a larp weapon (when used in the wrong hands) is capable of causing large gashes to the head.

Its completly up to you in every way. Just dont draw a 1 panel comic with 1 person in it saying 1 word.

As I understand it, you are completely free to do whatever you want, whether or not the comic creator in question will accept it as cannon, is something entirely different and depends on the comic and content in question I guess.

The downside to this ban is the fact that it is finals week. Had *I* not got a once in a life time chance, I wouldn't have made my comic online. Maybe you should allow a one week late entry period to allow those who are locked away from their computers by their parents due to finals a chance to finish their work.

About the people not having done it.

Well, the thing is, it's understandable if you can't do it, sometimes there are things that are out of your control. But you've had almost a month and drawing a comic doesnt take long, maybe a few hours max. The thing is, we all get a present, like Q said, and when you're not making one it means that somebody else doesn't get one, while they still likely put all the effort in it.

Now, I do get the idea that Onasuma is having a hard job organising these things, so I hereby offer to do it instead of him or to help him next time. I guess the next one will be somewhere around easter?

Yeah, basically what Q said. People put time into these to make them worth while. If some other people cant even be bothered to PM me a reason why they havent done what they promised, I, for one, dont think they deserve their own preasent and should be publically humiliated. You had a freakin month, 1/12th of a year, 25/19971th of a males life. If you cant find a few hours in that time to do something you said you'd do for someone else, well then Im sorry I wasted your time by organising this whole thing.

The only thing I'm disappointed about is Onasuma's reaction and attempt at public humiliation. What do you think this kind of behavior will tell the people that were unsure weather to enter or not... do you think the prospect of being yelled at is nice or encouraging?

Also, I was under the impression that Christmas is on the 25th not 20th... why would you set the deadline then?.

This whole thing was suppose to be a nice thing we did for one another, no-one signed up just to screw-over other people.

Maybe If you allow people the chance to make amends (even of late) and you don't bar others from the competition next year for being late you might get more people signing up and a nicer feeling to the whole thing.

Either way... this is the LAST year I participate in the Web comic Secret Santa thing, the best gift of all is to give so I advise you all (as will I) next year to try making guest strips for people without expecting anything in return. Those of you that can't see that I'm afraid you don't know what Christmas is all about.
