View Full Version : Which OotS character type would you like to Be?

Hardcore

(Note that it says 'type'. Who you are is less interesting than who you want to become )
Also you don't have to pick a playable creature type:)

Me? I would like to be a succubus like Sabine I think (despite the test in another thread suggested I really am Durkon LOL)
Can fly, have damage reduction, energy drain etc, also is having lots of sex and is looking good in leather (RED leather )*
Yeah, I am a guy, but so what? Sabine is way cool

*But I would wear black I think. SHINY black leather like cat woman perhaps.
And I would have a serrated Dagger and a whip.

Evil is cool. Evil is badass. I want to be like <evil character X>, just without the evil.

You do realise that Sabine is a devourer, a perverse abomination that lives from other people's hopes and love? She cuts out the heart of people to sacrifice it together with their also evil mate?

A succubus might be cool and stylish and powerful, but ponder why she is all that: She's an evil incarnation of desire and temptation: And then sucks the life and hope (or soul) out of people.

Sorry, but if you do not want to be evil, murdering monster you cannot be a succubus.

Some dragon, probably gold, but obviously not black. Either that or a celestial. Good and powerful, that's what I want to be (despite my username).

Yes, I said "good looking", not "being good"
Sure, evil is ok. I find it hard enough to be good in rl, so a change to evil could be a step in the right direction for me.

I'd be a bard, but not like Elan.

I'd be smart and charismatic, and good aligned.

I'd travel around, helping people who needed things, rather than just wanted them. I'd probably be neutral good, as i don't see the point in law or chaos too much really.

mmmh, let's think
Paladin? NOO!
oots gives a veeery bad idea of paladins http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0372.html
Cleric? noo... too anonymous
mmmh... maybe i'd like being a Elder Mentor like Julio Scoudrel:
Short, cool apparition. Solves a problem. Makes the plot go ahead. Vanishes in the darkness yelling a last kernel of wisdom.
Perfect xD

well if I was to just show up in oots...I'd probably be a chaotic neutral bard with a personality cross between thog and elan

if i was to write my own character into the story I'd be a chaotic evil Cleric/Blackguard

if i were in the comic my type would be and unnamed npc and probly highly expendable.....

what type i would like to be.... the type that is ultra cool that everyone would vote for on who is your favorite oots character polls.

yeah thats the type of character i would want to be... and seeing as how some of the less prominant characters end up on those polls, i think i might just be able to have it both ways.

Random guy who does everything he wants unless he considers is not fun :P

As class? Maybe Wizard, specialized on Enchantments or Transmutation, whatever I feel is funnier at the time of character creation, banning Evokation and Necromancy, probably.

Something like that, yeah.

Autochthon
2009-11-28, 12:47 PM
Well, Wizard would be the clear choice for me to start with. I wouldn't choose a specialist school in the specific sense (I like having a broad array of options and can't stand loosing an entire two schools), but I'd probably have a fair focus on Transmutation, with some Conjuration and Evocation. That'd continue (with or without Prestige classes, not sure on that) until I just hit Epic. At that point, I'd probably branch off into cleric.

They still would kick you off for being from the wrong game. There are no Dragoons in Final Fantasy VI, where that particular airship comes from. You might not be kicked off the Enterprise though.

No, their ears are just shorter than elf ears, but still pointy. D&D elf ears are huge, while half-elf ears look like the ears on the LotR movies' elves.

In that, he, out of the entire cast of OotS, has touched the most boobies. And, at the end of the adventuring day, that is all that really matters.

2009-12-07, 12:26 AM
I would have to go with bard. I'm not sure if this would be my first choice in any D&D campaign (and I'm not exactly musically inclined, either), but bards are well-suited to the OotS-verse because they know genre conventions (it's part of their bardic training, or something). Being genre-savvy goes a long way, and with enough intelligence and planning, one could be a step ahead of their foes or get out of danger quickly when they need to do so. In an actual D&D campaign, I suppose this would be metagaming and would be discouraged. However, in the OotS world, pointing out genre conventions is legitimate (and important to one's survival).

Besides, Elan seems to have the most fun out of anyone in the comic. OK, maybe Belkar too, but psychopaths don't count. If Elan is any indicator, bards have more fun, get the girl, and have a happy ending. What more could you want?

The only boobs we know that he has touched are Samantha's and Haley's, Origins of PCs implied that Belkar slept with two prostitutes Belkar slept with Jenny, and he made out with Vaarsuvius, if Vaarsuvius has boobs shall remain forever a mystery but that still leaves Belkar with six confirmed boobs touched to Elan's four.

Well, sure, if you count 'unique boobies touched', but Elan touches Haley's boobies probably daily, and will, barring incredible social drama, continue to do so for the rest of their natural lives/afterlives, making his number of boobies touched nigh-infinite.

Belkar. Belkar will never hold onto a woman for that long.

Actually,I'd rather play a human magister newly planeshifted from the world of Serran, just to show Varsuuvius what a true spell-caster is really like.
Failing that,I'd probably play either an eldritch theurge or a diviner with at least two prestige classes, one of them being archmage.

I lament the fact that the bard class is forbidden to me by my lawful good alignment, considering the ways it fits me as a person. However, I never was the type to dabble, so if I were to choose a class I would most want to be, I guess it would have to be Wizard. Probably specialist, but I'm not sure which. Conjurer maybe, but Transmuter is a nice one, too. You know what? Diviner. Nobody ever tells me anything, and damnit, I want to know every mundane detail of the conversations I only half-overhear. I'll ban necromancy.

I can already see myself being able to see and hear things I can't already now...

I'd probably end up being some kind of bookish generalist wizard, dragon. Probably never show up in the story because I locked myself in a library when i became a dracolich (did i mention I would be a chromatic dragon) and the library would get lost to time. I may teleport to different places to collect (steal) more books. I would hoard knowledge, not treasure!

Some kind of powerful PC or adventurer (possibly a high-level Monk or something) who leads his own adventuring party. While his party seem very morally dubious, resembling the Light Warriors from 8BT more than anything else, he himself is relatively reasonable and they consistently aid the OotS throughout, to the extent that the two parties consider each other friends... Until he sacrifices his team-mates in some kind of evil ritual, giving him massive power, with the intent of destroying the Gods themselves, believing them to be at fault for everything that has happened.

I could go on, but I fear looking like a fanboy and two-bit fanfic writer, and cluttering up the forum with a wall of text.

The safest bet is definitely to be a PC, but I don't think I could handle that sort of responisibility.

I've kinda always considered myself evil elite-mook/advisor type material (think Redcloak and Tsukiko). You know, a named NPC attached to the main villian, with my own backstory and plots, and who you have to go through to reach the true villian.

Yeah, I'd be doomed to die, but they generally live the high life up until that point. And if I was lucky, I might be able to get a heroic sacrifice out of one of the PCs before they bring me down.
