Heth:Since the numerous general reminders don't seem to have gotten through to you, I'm going to put it here. Use the proper post format. You seem to be fond of complaining, but your refusal to use the proper format only makes it harder for refs to do LoS checks, and thus contributes to delays. It's right on the front page of the Waiting Room, just about everyone else uses it, it's not hard to notice. Look, I'll even reproduce it here for you.

@sallera:BS it wouldn't have been destroyed til AFTER I swung which was at the end of my turn, not the start it's pointless for it to be destroyed at the end of my turn only to grow back at the start of my turn before I move through it

Heth:It's destroyed when you swing, which is still during your turn. It doesn't just sit there looking at you for a while and then fall apart once your turn is over. Look at effects with a duration of one full round, or a spell that takes one full round to cast; both will end at the beginning of the turn. Unless you can come up with a convincing argument why this should be different, either accept the ruling or take it to the Waiting Room.

@sallerabased on what you said then it would regrow in the middle of my turn not at the start, which is possible based on the fact that ready actions and other things can happen in the middle of a turn, so it would then regrow after my first move NOT before it, and I will take it to the waiting room because your logic is ridiculous

The regrowth works just like a spell with a 1-round duration. It doesn't matter if the spell or hacking occurred on the first standard/full action, or if there were move actions and 5-ft steps that took place first.

Unless you can find a RAW example or Arena Precedent that says otherwise for 1-round effects, the effect still ends at the start of that initiative count in the following round. Hedge regrowth at the start of your turn invalidates the posted action. You may revise your turn.

Heth:Use proper post format. That includes the character's name and round number at the top of your post.

Also, you started your turn in G1. Unless you're changing your action to a double move, you won't be able to reach E7.

@Refs Spot for Heth to see Dexter in the shrubs [roll0] and [roll1] also, for Hoppy [roll2] but he'll never beat 37. And Kiranova didn't beat a 24, so they don't see each other. And Kiranova beats Hoppy's MS check by 17...so not enough to pinpoint.

@Hoppy:No LoS

@Heth:No LoS, but you hear movement to the East.

@Kiranova:No LoS, but there is something to the south south-west.

@Dexter:Heth walks to D11 before you sneak away. You may revise from there if you wish.

Addendum:

No change to my action, but I would like to add this to my Readied Action.

If anyone should come within 5 ft. of me, I will use my readied action to shoot them and take a 5 ft. step in the opposite direction. Otherwise, my readied action stands as stated.

Technically the ready action Shoot anyone in LoS who has stopped moving or comes within 5ft, and then take a 5-ft step if necessary to remain at least 5ft from everyone is instantly triggered since Heth is in LoS and isn't currently moving.

You'll either need to take the shot or revise the readied action so it doesn't instantly trigger.

Wait...if I recall correctly, you don't HAVE to take a readied action, right? You can just ignore it (though you lose the readied action if you do so), and then take your turn, which is what I did.

Heth:No, it doesn't, but you check against your ending space, not the target's space. Since the closest square you can attack from is J13, that's where you'd have to charge to, and on that line, the hedge is in the way.

Aaaalright, in a bit of mortal danger here. With my bow out, I can't take an AoO, and he's right in front of me. Thank goodness for Tumble ranks!

I'll be moving from K14 to L16, which should take up a full move action. I think this calls for two tumble checks?

First Check (DC 15) [roll0]
Second Check (DC 17) [roll1]

And if either of those checks failed, then Heth gets an AoO (only one.)

And for my second move action, I'll move to N16 (10 ft), and try to make an accelerated climb check (20 ft/2 = 10 ft.), at which point I should be on top of the granite platform.

It occurs to me now that I should have used a withdraw action, since I'm not doing anything but moving away from him. No, however if I see him before my most recent turn then I will adjust my readied action as follows:
"Fire on anyone entering my LoS that is not in cover. May wait to see if opponent comes closer before firing to increase chance of adding sudden strike damage."

This way, I can wait til Dexter moves out of cover for me to take my shot.

M14-P13 takes 30ft of movement, since you move half-speed down the ladder, taking up 20ft. You'll have to revise your second move action, since you can't quite make it to U17 from there.

Heth:Not sure what you mean. It isn't rounded at all. The ladder is 10ft long, you climb at half speed, so it takes 20ft of your movement to climb down. The other 10ft was spent moving from M14 to O13. With 30ft remaining, the furthest you can reach is S17.

1: I was using my Heavy Flail. Sorry I forgot to mention that it was drawn, but yeah...a Heavy Flail is a two-handed weapon, which provides +4 to disarm checks, and flails in general provide a +2 to disarm checks. Add the +4 from Improved Disarm and you get a total bonus of +10.


2: Moot point. Dexter drops into the Negs. He be out of the battle.

alchemist fire is confusing me currently, based on what i read i only take the 1d6 and 2ndary if it hits me, but a 14 doesn't hit me so i'm confused as to how much damage i've actually taken

A direct hit deals 1d6 points of fire damage. Every creature within 5 feet of the point where the flask hits takes 1 point of fire damage from the splash. On the round following a direct hit, the target takes an additional 1d6 points of damage.

If it's a direct hit, you take 1d6 immediately and 1d6 on the next round.

If it's a miss, roll to find the direction of the miss. It lands X squares away in that direction, where X = the # of range increments. If it lands within 5' of you, you take 1 damage immediately and no damage the following round.

EDIT: It is, however, a ranged touch attack.

EDIT2: Which brings me to another point. Corsair, you haven't included a stat block in like 5 rounds. That needs to be posted EVERY round. Please and thank you.

You would need to roll once initially, and again every time you got hit. You would also be flat-footed for the duration. If you failed the check, you'd fall to the ground.

Edit: Also, you can't reload while hanging there, since you need two hands for that. Please revise your turn.
