I'm just curious what classes have hide in plain sight. It seems to be like one of the best abilities that a sneaky character can get other than the ability to turn straight up invisible.

So far it looks like just assassin and shadow dancer but I'm sure there are more.

this is the site that I normally use to look stuff up on but it seems to missing swordsage so I know it's missing things. Does anyone know a better site (preferably search able)

Ranger has it, certainly. Scout might also.
The best site for Core-only stuff is http://www.d20srd.org/

Ranger is the first thing that comes to mind.

Crystal Keep has .pdfs of the classes. You could do a search for Hide in Plain Sight.

Classes: Ranger, Shadow Dancer, Scout, and Assassin are only ones that come to mind.

The +1 level adjustment "Dark" template from Tome of Magic has it. Not a class, but the fact that it also grants 120ft darkvision and +8 Hide and +4 Move silently makes it perfect for a sneaky bugger.

I think some item (where was it) grants the dark template that gives HIPS and a lot of other nice bonuses.

Collar of Umbral Metamorphosis. 10,800 gold, 10 minutes a day of the Dark template, each use counts as at least a minute. Or can pay 22,000 for constant. Page 156 of Tome of Magic.

My warforged scout Soulknife/Swordsage (concentrating on Shadow Hand), just got one last session.

There are also two amulets in there that give you the template, for very cheap.

The important thing here is that Hide in Plain Sight is a bunch of different abilities with the same name. Most of them only take care of the "not being observed" requirement to use the Hide skill. A very few -- primarily the Supernatural versions that Shadowdancers and Assassins get -- also remove the other Hide requirement of cover/concealment. Those are the good ones.
