Tomorrow is my last available day to write my thesis, as I have to present it to the secretariat on December 2nd. I confide in being able to finish it in time, but it will be a hard battle.
Wish me good luck.

I wish you no luck. Luck is fickle. I hope you find within yourself what you need to complete your task.

You could've made the thread title a bit less ominous. Just sayin' :smalltongue:

Well done on your thesis! What was it about?

Cool. Well done. I prefer strange hadrons myself, and I'd think they'd be easier to analyze given their tendency to not decay as rapidly as other such particles. But I haven't fiddled with a supercollider in centuries, and only did it to get my Gen Ed anyway, so what do I know?

CONGRATS!!! Go forth and prosper, young one.

Charm hadrons are of particular interest because their decay modes have many affinities with those of lepton Tau (such as flight lengths, number of prongs, momenta, etc.): as in the OPERA experiment very few Tau events are foreseen, while charm events are far more common, the study of the latter has a great importance as it's a benchmark for Tau decay analysis methods.

By the way, I wish to thank you all for your support: even if you don't personally know me, all of you dispassionately wished me all the luck you could and encouraged me to finish my work. I think that Internet is one of the most important inventions in the history of Mankind: the way it brings together people in the World...well, I think it's wonderful. Well, okay, I'm on the romantic verge this evening... Thank you Playgrounders!

How did it go?

I got really nervous. But I managed to get maximum grade which in Italy is 30/30 for the discussion, and 110/110 as final grade.

Ooooh, congratulations! That's an amazing grade. So, should we call you Dr. Cicciograna now? :smallwink:
