... and I was wrong. I had assumed the blue eyes would NOT be a one-off joke, but in fact they were. So for those keeping score, this is another win for Kish, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

Respectfully,

Brian P.

Did your emasculation admission require a whole thread?

And this is Oots-related how?

Nerf... In a community like this, you never know...

Anyway, as it's been said, it probably didn't need a thread, but your admission shows you're honorable.

Admitting you are wrong is not emasculating. Unless you have no self-confidence to begin with and rely on a faulty ego.

Well, this was an unexpected thread to log on and see.

Thanks, though I certainly hope no one's keeping score.

I'm confused. I could've sworn I crossed that out.

Nobody is keeping score.

Least of all Kish, I would wager.

So why start a whole thread about it? Or even admit you were wrong in the first place? I'm pretty sure I owe her 10 gp about the new book not being called V for Vaarsuvius, but I'm not ever gonna pay her (or even admit I'm wrong).

Leave th guy alone. It's enough that he was emasculated like that.
JK but I think I can hear the sound of Roland in the corridor...

Speaking of which, I wonder what his outlook on this will be?

Not only are we keeping score, there's a betting pool. But I've said too much.

Betting pool? *Wink wink nudge nudge*

I am susceptible to corruption if the stakes are sufficiently high.

Tongue-in-cheek,

The blue eyes Belkar got from the melange spice, which then promptly disappeared (in the Dune books, blue eyes are permanent).

That, and they take a while to appear.

Mild spice usage doesn't do it, and I don't think one sudden big dose will- it takes a steady high intake over time.

Yeah, everyone knows this forum is known for its restraint in making "pointless" threads that would be better kept to the most recent discussion thread.

Better luck next time Pendell.

Ah, but simply crossing it out (without deleting) implies that was your true meaning. Perhaps you use the crossout differently than, hmm...1, 2, 10...everyone else on the internet?

Or, like most everyone I know, he was doing it to make a joke?

Cool, but that's still less of a win than when Kish suggested reading xkcd to someone. (In a thread that's now closed, IIRC.)

Let me guess, you also follow PhDcomics, Kish? If so you're quickly gaining approval points from me. (Otherwise, make sure you start at the beginning, the first few years are the best, even though the comic's still very good.)

Speaking of which, did anyone check out my "I got stabbed and it was awesome" thread I made awhile back. No joke. Real thread.

Nonsense, where would you get that idea?

He's on to me

I was fully expecting a Darwin Award at the end of that one, but walked away disappointed. :smallsigh:

Anyway, I'd hate for someone to think I was actually encouraging this misbegotten thread. *Leaves*
