See, I'm applying for a monster game, and at this point I'm pretty much decided on doing a stonechild. We ignore the first 3 LA, and then we have 7 levels to work with, so at the end I have 4 levels to fill. The DM is open to pretty much anything, including hombrew. The problem is, I'm not sure with what, beyond a desire to do melee(come one, the bonuses to Str and Con practically demand it). So, any one know of some interesting Melee based hombrew classes?

Does it specifically need to be homebrew?

It doesn't have to be, but if it's not homebrew it needs to catch my attention in some way.

Crusader, focusing on Stone Dragon maneuvers? It would fit the fluff so hard it's not funny.

Homebrew melee, you say? Look no further than the Lightning Warrior (http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showpost.php?p=7029114&postcount=6).

Dude, it's way too underpowered.

Yeah, doesn't even get a familiar.

Of course, I could just use the obtain familiar feat....

I really like the Evolutionist, but in my opinion it's absurdly unbalanced.

Also, the lightning warrior can't specialize. At least present options that can at least contribute to the party.

Pathfinder's Cavalier isn't bad.

True, in fact, I think I expressed some comments to that effect in the Evolutionist version 2.
